  • Maha: No love jihadi shall remain alive, says Raja Singh at public rally

Maha: No love jihadi shall remain alive, says Raja Singh at public rally

    [ad_1]

Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and former Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh made a call for ‘Undivided Hindu Rashtra’ on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanthi in Maharashtra.

Addressing a huge public rally in Latur district on Sunday, Raja spoke about Love Jihad, Hindu Rashtra, and his recent arrest by the Telangana police.

He also mentioned Afzal Khan, a general who served the Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur Sultanate during the 1600s, was killed by Chhatrapati Shivaji.

With Afzal as a reference, Singh made a provocative statement that said, “Jitne Afzal ke naajayaz awlaade hai, un sabko nahi chodna. Shivaji Maharaj ne Afzal ka seena phaadkar bagwaa rang lehraya tha. Aaj har gali mein, har vidhaan sabha mein ek Afzal hai. Tho socho hamein kitne Chhatrapati Maharaj ka roop lena hoga (Today, Afzal Khan’s descendants are found in every lane, every Vidhan Sabha. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj murdered Afzal Khan and raised the Hindu flag. Just think, how many of us have to become a Shivaji to murder an Afzal).”

He then spoke about love jihad provoking the crowd to murder every Muslim man who is in a relationship with a Hindu woman.  “Hamare Maharashtra ke dharthi per koi bhi love jihadi zinda na bache. Aaj hamari bahu-beti ko behla-phuslakar Love Jihad ke naam per fasaya jaa raha hai. Bacha paida karne ki machine banaya jaa raha hai. Rape and unke tukde kiya jaa raha hai. (No love jihadi will survive on the soil of Maharashtra. They trap Hindu women and make them slaves by producing more and more children. They rape them and cut them into pieces),” Raja said.

Hamare secular bhaiyon aur beheno ko batana chahatha hoon ki hum kabhi bhai-behen nahi ho sakthe. (I just want to convey to my secular brothers and sisters that we can never be brothers),” Raja spoke among energizing cheering among the crowd.

Singh went on to raise slogans such as ‘humse jo takrayega mitti mein mil jayega’ as the crowd cheered on.

Raja Singh also mentioned his recent bail and the restrictions imposed on him by the Telangana High Court and police.

Mujhe police ka notice diya gaya ki aapko kuch bhi nahi bolna hai. Maine kahan bilkul, hum kuch nahi bolenge. Lekin ithihaas kabhi jhuk nahi saktha aur Raja Singh kabhi rukh nahi saktha. Hamare dharam ke liye humne hamari kursi ko bhi laath maar di hai. Mera ek hee sankalp hai, jab tak jeeyoon, Chhatrapati Maharaj ke marg darshan per jeeyon. (I was told by the police not to say a word. I said ok. But history cannot be erased and Raja Singh cannot be tied down. I gave up my MLA position for my religion. I just want to live under the guidance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj till my end.),” he said.

On August 23 last year, T Raja Singh was booked by the Telangana police under the PD Act (Preventive Detention Act) for making derogatory remarks against the Prophet Mohammed in a video posted by him.

His comments lead to scores of people protesting on the streets demanding his arrest. The Telangana unit of the BJP also disassociated itself from his statements.

He was granted bail in February by the Telangana High Court after spending 76 days in prison.

LTTE chief Prabhakaran is alive, doing well, claims TN nationalist leader

    [ad_1]

Thanjavur: Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka is doing well, a top Tamil nationalist leader claimed here on Monday and said a conducive atmosphere prevails for him to appear now.

In a press conference, Pazha Nedumaran, a noted Tamil nationalist leader, prefixed his declaration as a ‘true announcement’ and said the international (political) atmosphere and fierce opposition to Rajapaksas by the Sinhalese people in Sri Lanka have created the right conditions for the leader of the Eelam Tamils, Prabhakaran to emerge.

Asserting that the LTTE leader is doing well, Nedumaran said the announcement would end ‘planned’ suspicions spread about him. Prabhakaran is all set to soon announce a plan for the dawn of the Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka, he said.

He appealed to Tamils in Sri Lanka and the Tamils living in all other parts of the world to stand together and extend him their full support. Till such time the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were powerful, they did not allow any forces inimical to India to find a toehold in the regions held by them in Sri Lanka, he said.

They not only opposed such forces but also have not received any support from such nations opposed to India, he added.

It may be recalled that Prabhakaran was killed in 2009 in the war between Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE. ‘Eelam‘ in Tamil denotes the homeland of the Tamil people.

Turkey: 17-year-old Boy Takes THIS Extreme Step to Survive Under Rubble for 94 Hours

A 17-year-old boy is sharing his story of survival after spending 94 hours trapped in rubble in the wake of the devastating earthquake that rocked Turkey early Monday.

Speaking via FaceTime from his hospital bed in Gaziantep, Turkey, Adnan Muhammet Korkut told ABC News he was asleep in his family’s home when the quake hit, and he then “got into the fetal position.”

While he was trapped, the teenager said that he drank his own urine and ate his family’s flowers to survive. “I set the alarm on my phone for every 25 minutes so I wouldn’t go to sleep. After two days, the battery went dead”, Korkut said.

As the rescue operation was going on, Korkut said, “I was hearing voices, but was worried they couldn’t hear me. I was afraid that I might get crushed during the rescue efforts. Thank you to the people who came and saved me”, the report added.

Many stories of the victims and survivors are making the headlines and garnering the netizens’ attention towards the horrible situation in the earthquake-struck region.

A toddler on Thursday was rescued after 79 hours from the rubble of a building that collapsed in Turkey’s southern city of Antakya. Footage from Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) also showed how rescue workers looked into a narrow opening in the debris and pulled out the two-year-old.

Muslims keeping Assamese language alive, says Badruddin Ajmal

    [ad_1]

Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Sunday said that Muslim people in Assam are keeping the Assamese language alive.

Speaking at a function in Dhubri, he said: “The Assamese language’s heritage has been preserved, and it has also been protected by Muslims residing in Assam. I can challenge that. But even after that, Assamese people refer to us as Bangladeshis in a fraction of a second.”

Ajmal commented that Assamese is not taught in Bangladesh.

“Then how can a Bangladeshi learn that language,” he questioned.

The AIUDF leader further said that in Char areas of Assam, Muslim people send their children to Assamese-medium schools.

“The problem is that our (Muslim) people send the children to Assamese medium schools, but they don’t have the habit of speaking Assamese at home,” he added.

Meanwhile, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has criticised Ajmal for his remarks.

He said: “This is a ridiculous claim. I have noticed that even Badruddin Ajmal speaks half Assamese language and mixes Bengali and Hindi into it.”

Hazarika also asked Ajmal whether he could really speak Assamese like him.

“There is absolutely no need for Badruddin Ajmal to protect our language since Assamese people know it well enough to protect and preserve it,” the BJP

  • Terrorism alive in J-K despite abrogation of Article 370: Digvijay Singh

Terrorism alive in J-K despite abrogation of Article 370: Digvijay Singh

    [ad_1]

Jammu: Terrorism is alive in Jammu and Kashmir despite the abrogation of Article 370, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh said on Sunday.

Singh said the recent terror attacks including the one at Dhangri village in Rajouri district are worrisome.

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister made the remarks after visiting terror attack victims at the Government Medical College Hospital here. Singh was accompanied by senior party leader Jairam Ramesh and J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma.

“First of all, we condemn the terror attacks in Dhangri in Rajouri and Narwal in Jammu. The situation in J&K is not what is being propagated after the abrogation of Article 370. Targeted and selective killings and bomb blasts have started once again,” Singh told reporters.

While seven persons belonging to a particular community were killed in terror attacks in Dhangri village of Rajouri on January 1 and 2, twin blasts at Narwal in the outskirts of Jammu left nine persons injured on Saturday.

“One of the survivors from the Dhangri attack has become disabled for life and the government has provided him Rs 1 lakh. We want a permanent rehabilitation policy for such victims so that they can live their life without being dependent on anyone,” Singh said.

“We do not want any political mileage out of these worrisome incidents but we cannot ignore one thing that the terrorism is still alive in J&K even after the abrogation of Article 370,” he said.

The Congress leader said divisive politics is neither good for Muslims nor Hindus. “This country belongs to all of us and we all need to work together for the country. The Kashmir and Jammu (divisions) are both part of India and they should be treated equally and the policies be framed keeping in mind the problems of the region.”

Ramesh, Congress general secretary, said the delegation visited the hospital on behalf of Rahul Gandhi, Bharat Jodo Yatra and Congress party to enquire about the condition of injured.

“The blasts that have taken place in Narwal are just 1.5 kms from the bypass through which the Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to pass (on Monday). It is a concern for us and we hope the administration will make necessary security arrangements,” he said.

When asked, Ramesh said he cannot say whether the blasts were carried out to stop the yatra. “The intelligence agencies and security agencies can comment on it but we are sure that the support we got from the Lt Governor (Manoj Sinha), his advisors and forces for the yatra will continue.

“The administration is as much concerned over the incident as we are. We will move along the Narwal road as per our schedule,” he said, adding the Congress is for zero tolerance against terrorism.
