Bollywood Returns: Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt Starrer ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ Crew Lands in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 4 (GNS): After a hiatus of over three decades, the Indian film industry – Bollywood is making strides towards Kashmir to shoot scenes in a bid to generate an aura of uniqueness and affinity with an otherwise largely disgruntled audience.
Kashmir, known for its beauty all across once used to be an easy to go destination for many Bollywood directors for a large part of the second half of twentieth century given its proximity to industry hub Mumbai and nonetheless because of its unparalleled and enchanting beauty. However the industry people almost stopped visiting here due to the onset of insurgency which also resulted in shutting of cinemas setup in the length and breadth of the valley.
It nevertheless was last year that incumbent Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched a new film policy at a star-studded event in the presence of actor Amir Khan and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani at SKICC, to give a new lease of hope and to attract the industry people back towards Kashmir.
The film policy, Sinha opined is aimed to transform Jammu Kashmir into the most preferred destination for the entertainment industry, reviving its halcyon days of being a cinematographer’s delight and bringing back the golden era of film shooting in the region besides maximizing the potential of promising local talent and creating livelihood opportunities for many.
“I invite filmmakers from across the world to come to Jammu and Kashmir and capture its pristine beauty through their lens. And, also avail the host of fiscal incentives, world-class facilities offered by the Jammu and Kashmir government,” Sinha said on the occasion.
Subsequently Sinha inaugurated the first multiplex in the valley, which of late has been driving many people to revive their interest towards the Bollywood industry.
Seemingly taking a cue from the green light from UT administration, Karan Johar directed “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” crew has landed in world famous ski-resort Gulmarg to shoot one of the movie’s song.

The song, as learnt by GNS, will be a tribute to the late filmmaker Yash Chopra. Ranveer and Alia will recreate the looks of Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor from the film Chandini, directed by ace director Yash Chopra in the late 1980s. Alia will be seen donning chiffon sarees’, while Ranveer, for a change, will be seen in formal attire.
It is believed that Karan Johar wanted to film the song in Switzerland, but after Alia Bhatt’s personal reasons, he moved it to Kashmir as the film maker believes that snow has the same feel in Kashmir as it has in Switzerland.
It has been learnt that several bollywood directors are mulling over and rather are already in talks with the administration to seek go-ahead to shoot scenes of their movies at different places in the Valley.
“Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” is expected to bring the audience back to watch Bollywood, which otherwise has being going through a lean phase, except for a silverline in the form of recently released Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’. (GNS)

Alia Bhatt undergoes facial surgery? Her new pics spark rumours

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt who has recently bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023 is considered one of the most successful female stars in India. B-town stars slam media for Alia Bhatt’s ‘invasion of privacy’

Mumbai: Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Neetu Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor extended their solidarity to Alia Bhatt, who accused the paparazzi and the media of ‘invasion of privacy’ on her Instagram handle on Tuesday.
Alia posted a collage of pictures of herself, taken inside the house without her consent. She wrote in the long note, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my living room when I felt something watching me…. I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed?”
Tagging the Mumbai police, she added, “This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy and it’s safe to say all lines were crossed today! @mumbaipolice.”
In support of Alia, Anushka Sharma wrote on her Instagram story, “This is not the first time they are doing this. About two years ago we called them out for the same reason! You’d think it would have made them more respectful of people’s space and privacy. Absolutely shameful! They were also the only guys posting photos of our daughter despite repeated requests!”
Karan Johar was also furious at the incident. He took to Instagram to post, “There is no justification to this absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy!!!! Everyone from the entertainment industry is always for the media and the paparazzi and are accommodating… but there HAS to be a LIMIT… This is about anyone’s right to feel safe in their own homes! This is not about actors or celebrities it’s a basic human right!!!”
Re-sharing the post on social media, Alia’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor wrote, “This is not right!!!”
Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor was too annoyed with the incident. In a long post, she wrote, “This is disgustingly intrusive. This publication has repeatedly done things like this. Including despite my continuous requests, photographed me unaware; inside the gym, I go to while working out through the glass door. In a space that is supposed to be private, where one does not anticipate to get photographed. I understand showing up to places, and in plain sight and doing your job.”
She further added, ”Where there is a mutual understanding of the job of the photographers, and the job and requirements of being a public figure. This stealthiness, zooming into someone’s private space without their consent or even awareness and calling it exclusive as if it’s a journalistic accomplishment is far from it.”

After Alia posted about her resentment in the evening, Arjun Kapoor and her sister Shaheen Bhatt were the first ones who showed support for the ‘Raazi’ actor.
This is an ongoing tussle between the celebs and the paparazzi about the intrusion of private space, which has hit the headlines in recent time.

Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor win Dadasaheb Phalke International film festival awards 2023

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor swept the Dadasaheb Phalke International film festival awards 2023, held at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on Monday.
Alia won the best actress award for portraying the iconic character Gangubai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, while Ranbir was named the best actor for ‘Brahmastra’.
Ranbir was not present at the occasion. Alia received the award on his behalf. Varun Dhawan won the Critics best actor award for ‘Bhediya’. Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ was awarded the Best film award. For this film, Anupam Kher received the award of most versatile actor of the year.
It’s a proud moment for Neetu Kapoor as two awards came to her home. Taking to Instagram, Neetu shared the screenshot of recipients on her story.
Alia posed with her trophy and shared it on her Instagram story.
Varun Dhawan has also posted glimpses from the night and his award on his story.
Anupam Kher posted a long note saying, “Thank you #DadaSahebPhalkeInternationalFilmFestival for honouring me with the #MostVersatileActor of the year award for #TheKashmirFiles #Kartikeya2 & #Uunchai. I dedicate this award to my audiences who have loved me for the last 38 years. I will continue to dream and work hard. Also proud that #TheKashmirFiles got the #BestFilmAward. Jai Ho!”
As per their official website, the festival celebrates the brilliance of the Indian film industry by making an effort to acknowledge and aid nascent projects by bringing them to mainstream audiences.

Other celebs present at the event included Varun Dhawan, Ronit Roy, Shreyas Talpade, R Balki, Sahil Khan, Natalia Barulich, Jayantilal Gada, Sachet, Parampara, Vivek Agnihotri, Rishab Shetty and Hariharan among others.

Shraddha Kapoor tells Alia Bhatt to expose Ranbir Kapoor’s “(real) fake id”

Mumbai: Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt engaged in a fun banter on Saturday after the ‘Raazi’ actor dropped a video on social media in which she is seen doing cardio while listening to the song ‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ from the film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’.
“Filhaal hum toh sirf Cardio ke pyaar mein bheege bheege bheege @shraddhakapoor #TerePyaarMein on loop dada,” Alia captioned the post.
Soon after she posted the video, Shraddha quickly reacted to the clip and called out Ranbir to use his own Instagram account.
Shraddha wrote, “Uffff you cutestest @aliabhatt,” she wrote, adding, “P.S: Yeh kya Makkaari hai Ranbir? Apne real id se aao.”
Replying to her post, Alia wrote, “Hahaha good luck making that happen my fellow fishy.”

To which the ‘Aashiqui 2’ actor reacted, “Bohot ho gaya! Chal iske (real) fake id ko expose karte hai.”
Ranbir doesn’t have a verified account on any social media platforms yet. So, Shraddha might have just hinted towards the ‘Shamshera’ actor having an anonymous account.
Helmed by Luv Ranjan ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ is an upcoming romantic comedy film which is all set to hit the theatres on March 8, 2023.
Recently the makers of the film unveiled the first song of the film ‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ which got massive responses from the fans.
‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ oozes freshness and romance. The song is composed by Pritam, sung by none other than Arijit Singh along with Nikhita Gandhi, and has lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
With Ranbir and Shraddha’s presence, the song looks like a beautiful combination of love and liveness that strikes the right chord with the youth.

Alia heaps praise on Ranbir’s ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt showered praises on her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor after the trailer launch of his upcoming movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’.
Taking to Instagram, the ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actor shared the trailer video along with a caption, “truly one of my most favourite trailers !! Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar releasing 8th March.”
The trailer of Luv Ranjan’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ dropped on Monday, bringing in a breath of fresh air, with crackling chemistry between Ranbir and Shraddha Kapoor, stunning visuals and hilarious dialogues.
The three-and-a-half-minute-long trailer also gave a glimpse of the fantastic music that will be in the film with the magic of Pritam, Amitabh Bhattacharya and Arijit Singh coming together.
“Aaj kal relationship me ghusna aasaan hai, usme nikalna mushkil. Rishtey jodna aasaan hai, todna mushkil,” says Ranbir’s character in the trailer before he bumps into Shraddha Kapoor at a hotel. What ensues is a hilarious roller coaster ride.
Shraddha took to her Instagram handle and shared the trailer with the caption, “Relationship investments are subject to love risks. Please check compatibility before investing. #TuJhoothiMainMakkaarTrailer out now!”
Apart from the leading duo of Ranbir and Shraddha, popular stand-up Anubhav Singh Bassi is also part of the film’s cast as he is making his Bollywood debut with ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’.
At the film’s trailer launch event in the early hours of Monday, director Luv Ranjan said, “Love is a complicated subject, but why not have some fun while we try and unravel relationships in today’s world. The world and vibe of the film has been brought alive by the super talented pair of Shraddha and Ranbir and my brilliant crew. I am hoping for audiences across all ages, young and young at heart to have a good time in the theatres while they relate to their own romance when they watch the film.”

The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Ranbir and Shraddha. Produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and presented by T-Series’ Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar, ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ will release in theatres on Holi i.e. March 8.
