Madhya Pradesh: Another preacher advocates Hindu Rashtra

    [ad_1]

Indore: Preacher Pradeep Mishra said on Thursday that India will always remain a Hindu nation.

Speaking to reporters here, Mishra, famous as a Shiv Mahapuran narrator, said that India was already “a Hindu nation.”

Last month, self-styled godman Dhirendra Shastri had organised a `yajna’ for turning India into a `Hindu Rashtra’ at Bageshwar Dham in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district.

Also, for the last two months, some religious leaders have taken out marches in Chhattisgarh demanding that India be turned into a Hindu nation.

“India was the same (Hindu nation) in the past and is going to remain so in the future. In the land of Bharat, people harbour good thoughts, dedication and Sanatani (religious) feelings, and understand each other’s pain and sorrow,” Mishra said.

Stern action should be taken against “foreign forces” which harm the Sanatan dharma and the country’s people, he further said, without explaining who were the “foreign forces.”

  • Urdu Advocates Demand Inclusion In Naib Tehsildar Recruitment

    [ad_1]

    by Insha Shirazi

SRINAGAR: The Urdu Coordination Committee (Jammu and Kashmir) held a press conference on Thursday to raise awareness about issues related to the use of Urdu language and advocate for making it mandatory for Naib Tehsildar candidates. The committee’s leaders highlighted that Urdu is not just a language but a reflection of the entire civilization, allowing people from diverse backgrounds to connect with their history and culture. They also emphasized that Urdu is the only language that can serve as a means of communication among different linguistic and geographical groups in Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders further explained that with modern technology, the importance and usefulness of language have increased significantly.

During the press conference, Ajaz Ahmad Kakroo, the president of the Urdu committee, highlighted the significance of the fact that most artists from Jammu and Kashmir express their opinions in Urdu language, using creative and aesthetic techniques. He further explained that the conference was called to address the issue of the cancellation of Urdu language in the recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, which underscores the importance of Urdu language. All members associated with the committee expressed their disappointment with the government’s recent decision to cancel the use of Urdu language in the appointment of Naib Tehsildars.

The Jammu & Kashmir administration has made a significant change in the recruitment process for Naib Tehsildar positions in the Revenue Department by eliminating the requirement for Urdu language proficiency. This decision is expected to have an impact on current procedures for land registration and documentation.

Starting in February, the Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) has begun incorporating Hindi into the curriculum for classes I to X. While the committee stated that it was open to the introduction of any language, it acknowledged that the decision to make Urdu a mandatory subject had sparked concerns among the public. However, the Urdu Coordination Committee, along with numerous academic, literary, social, business, and cultural organizations, expressed their disagreement with these official decisions, which contradict the sentiments and intentions of the public. They are urging the lieutenant governor to review and reconsider these decisions.

Professors, teachers, writers, research scholars, and millions of Urdu language enthusiasts are demanding that the government include Urdu Language as a requirement for Naib Tehsildar recruitment. The committee has highlighted the unique characteristics of the Urdu language, which include its prevalence in school curriculums from class 1 to 10 in Kashmir, as well as its teaching at the university level, resulting in more employment opportunities for graduates. Furthermore, the appointment of Urdu teachers at every level could also provide job opportunities. The committee urges the government to recognize these benefits and take responsibility for introducing Urdu as a requirement for Naib Tehsildar recruitment.

  • AP: Naidu’s call to advocates to resist misuse of power by government

AP: Naidu’s call to advocates to resist misuse of power by government

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party leaders Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh on Saturday called upon the advocate community to firmly resist the misuse of power by Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) government.

Thanking advocates who have been bailing out TDP leaders and activists from false cases, Naidu said, “The role played by advocates in every sphere is crucial.”

The former chief minister assured the lawyers that those who firmly stand by the TDP now will be given top priority once the party is back in power.

Naidu said that along with political war, he felt the need to wage a legal fight against the “wicked policies of the YSRCP government”.

“The policy of the TDP always has been that highly educated people should plunge into politics, not the rich,” said the former chief minister

He said, “TDP allotted party tickets to as many as 47 advocates in the elections. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Nakka Ananda Babu, GMC Balayogi, Yerran Naidu and Rajendra Prasad are among several other TDP leaders, who discharged their duties as advocates. Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, who was once the TDP legal cell in charge is now a member of Rajya Sabha”.

Stating that he had been a member of the state Legislative Assembly since 1978, Naidu never witnessed this kind of situation in the State.

“The advocates, however, are getting full-time work because of the atrocious rule of YSRCP but other systems have totally collapsed,” he said.

He said that the atrocities of the YSRCP government began with the arrest of TDP state unit president, Atchen Naidu.

“TDP has a record of suppressing extremists, factionists and anti-communal forces. The party activists are now firmly resisting the state government’s barbarity and this is only possible with the help extended by the advocates,” he said.

Stating that suppressing the rowdyism of the state government is not a big deal for TDP, Naidu pledged to pay back all the atrocities with interest once elected to power.

Chandrababu Naidu said that this was the biggest legal meeting that he has convened in his political career.

BCI forms panel to probe advocate’s role in misleading candidates in bar council exams

    [ad_1]

Ahmedabad: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has formed a panel headed by retired high court judge Paresh Upadhyay to probe an advocate’s role in allegedly misleading candidates in the bar council exams held across India last Sunday.

BCI Chairman Manan Mishra told IANS, “There is a report alleging that an advocate and his companions misled candidates in the bar council exams. To probe the allegation, a three-member panel has been formed, which will look into whether there is any substance in the allegation. It will submit a report within seven days.”

11 advocates, 2 judicial officers elevated as additional judges of 3 HCs

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: A total of 11 advocates and two judicial officers were on Monday appointed as additional judges in the high courts of Allahabad, Karnataka and Madras.

Law Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the fresh appointments on Twitter and extended his best wishes to them.

Those appointed include six for the Allahabad High Court, five for the Madras High Court and two for the Karnataka High Court.

Two of the additional judges appointed to the Madras HC are judicial officers.

The names of some of them were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium last month.

One of those appointed to the Madras High Court is advocate Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri whose reported affiliation to the BJP had triggered a controversy.

Some lawyers had recently asked the Collegium to recall its recommendation for Gowri alleging her affiliation. Some other lawyers had supported her elevation, citing hard work and her commitment to the profession.

Additional judges are usually appointed for a period of two years before being elevated as permanent judges.

Rijiju supports view that advocates with political affiliation can become judges

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday appeared to support the view that lawyers with political affiliation can become judges.

This comes amid a debate on the issue following a recent recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium.

Rijiju retweeted a post by Supreme Court advocate and former governor Swaraj Kaushal who said that in the past too, sitting members of Parliament representing political parties had been elevated as high court judges.

“Justices K S Hegde and Baharul Islam were both sitting Congress MPs when they were appointed as HC judges. Justice V R Krishna Iyer was a Cabinet Minister in Kerala. Once you take the oath of office, you have to live by the oath,” Kaushal had tweeted a couple of days ago.

Kaushal tagged a news report which said that Madras High Court advocates had urged the SC Collegium to recall its proposal to elevate Victoria Gowri, who had been associated with the BJP, as a high court judge citing her alleged remarks against minorities and political affiliation.

According to reports, another group of lawyers supported judgeship for her citing her hard work and commitment to the profession.

Her name was recommended by the SC Collegium last month for elevation as a judge of the Madras High Court.
