    Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Promotes 366 Police Personnel

    Jammu, January 31, 2019: SJM Gillani, Additional Director General of Police, Armed, J&K, has ordered the promotion of 366 police officers.

    According to a statement, the promotion orders of one ASI and 365 Head Constables to the posts of SI and ASI were issued after the DPC, headed by ADGP Armed, assessed the cases of eligible ASIs and HCs and found them fit for promotion to their next ranks in light of the relevant promotion norms.

    The ADGP congratulated the newly promoted SIs and ASIs and hoped that they would demonstrate discipline, hard work, and dedication towards their assignments and always come up to the expectations of the people.

    Meanwhile, the police officer said that the promotion process for SgCTs and constables of the J&K Armed Police is also underway at the Armed Police Headquarters.

  • National Voters Day Observed at PHQ; ADGP (Headquarters) PHQ Administers Pledge to Officers, Personnel

    Jammu, Jan 25 (GNS): National Voters Day pledge ceremony was organized at Police Headquarters here on Wednesday. The ADGP (Headquarters) PHQ, M.K Sinha administered the pledge to officers and personnel.

    ADGP (Coordination) PHQ, Danesh Rana, IGP (Headquarters) PHQ, Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG Admin PHQ, Sarah Rizvi, DIG (Training) PHQ Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, AIsG of PHQ, SO to ADGP Armed J&K, officers & staff of PHQ, APHQ and Telecommunication attended the pledge taking function as did other officers and personnel of JKP.

    As is known, January 25 is observed as National Voters Day to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created on this date in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. For 2023, the theme was “nothing like voting, I vote for sure”.

    Meanwhile, pledge functions were also held at all the Units, Wings and District Headquarters of J&K Police across Jammu and Kashmir. (GNS)

    Highest Service Medal For Police and CAPFs.

    Srinagar, Jan 24 (GNS): Additional Director General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar (IPS) has been awarded President’s Police Medal for “distinguished services” on January 26.
    The president’s police medal for distinguished services is the highest service medal for police and CAPFs. It is awarded for long and distinguished service to individuals who have served at least 25 years in the State/Central police or in security organizations.

    An IPS officer of 1997 batch, Kumar earlier served in different capacities on the various posts in Kashmir region. He has also served in CRPF on central deputation as DIGP New Delhi Range, IGP and IGP Chhattisgarh.

    Recently, the Election Commission of India has awarded him the prestigious National Award for his role as chief force coordinator of CAPFs in providing safe environment for conducting assembly elections of nine states in 2018.

    Kumar is also recipient of several Gallantry Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, National Award by the ECI and Commendation Cards/Discs by the COAS, GoC-in-C (Northern Command), DG CRPF and DGP J&K.(GNS)

    Srinagar, Jan 25: On the eve of Republic Day, additional director general of police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar has been awarded President’s Police Medal.

    An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that ADGP Vijay Kumar was awarded the medal for his distinguished service in the field.

    President’s Police Medal is the highest service medal for police and central armed police forces in the country—(KNO)
