    Hyderabad: South Central Railway has achieved its best-ever performance in electrification. The zone has completed 1017 Route Kilometres (RKM) of railway electrification works from FY 2022 to 2023, which is all-time record in the history of the zone. This achievement is also the second-highest RKM of electrification done by any zone across Indian Railways during these years.

    The state-wise details of the electrification completed in the zone during 2022-23 are as follows:

    Indian Railways has accorded special focus to the electrification of its network. Out of the total electrification of 1017 Rkms, 286.4 Rkms fall under Telangana, 133.7 Rkms under Andhra Pradesh, 546 Rkms under Maharashtra and 50.8 Rkms pertain to Karnataka jurisdiction of SCR.

    The Telangana region of SCR pertaining to 26.4 Rkms comprises sections like Bhavanapalem, Samupalli, Manoharabad and Nizamabad, and 133.7 Rkms equals the Andhra Pradesh region of SCR comprises sections like Dharmavara Kadin, Aravalli Nidadavoln, New Piduguralla Savalyapuram.

    Similarly, 546 Rkms pertaining to the Maharashtra region of SCR comprises sections like Washim Parna, Kanaloagar Park Ambari-Madkhed and Rotegaon Dinegaon Parli – Parbhani.

    Additionally, SCR is observing Electrical Safety Week from the third to the ninth of May to promote electrical safety aspects and save electrical energy.

    The seminar will be held at the divisional level, special training classes are also being conducted for the electric supervisors and staff to create awareness regarding electricity rules.

    Visakhapatnam: Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has achieved the highest ever revenue by crossing Rs 9000 crore five days ahead of the closing of the Financial Year 2022-23, the official said on Sunday.

    Last year in 2021-22, the Division achieved Rs 8498.86 crore.

    “The Division has created a record of 68.12 MT in loading, registering a record growth of 1.24 MT from 1 April 2022 to 25th March-2023. The Division has loaded 66.88 MT of freight in the last financial year,” AK Tripathi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager said in a statement.

    Tripathi further said that with its overall best performance, the Division has achieved this remarkable performance in just a span of 350 days as against 360 days loaded in the last fiscal’s corresponding period.

    He added that the rare feat was made possible due to the outstanding performance of all the departments, despite various constraints such as natural disasters, security reasons, doubling and triple line works, reduced demand for Iron ore, and other safety-related modernisation works in the Division.

    Hyderabad: South Central railway (SCR) has crossed a milestone on Wednesday by achieving 122.628 MTS of freight loading surpassing its previous best of 122.498 MTs loading. Compared to the last year, SCR’s the current years freight loading SCR is 12% higher.

    Amongst all zonal railways in terms of incremental freight traffic achieved, SCR stood in the second place during the current financial year, said a press release.

    Coal continues to be the largest segment contributing 62.195 in this of loading followed by cement, in terms of commodities. Some other major commodities are, food grains with 6.731MTs, fertilizers with 7.561 MTs, RMSP with 4.181MTs, iron ore with 1.45 MTs while petroleum products and other loading goods amount it for 8.672 MTs of containers.
