Football | Le Parisien: A young woman accuses PSG’s Achraf Hakim of rape

    [ad_1]

The alleged act is said to have taken place between Saturday and Sunday at the home of Hakim, who is a member of the Moroccan national team.

24 years old a woman accuses someone who plays in Paris Saint-Germain, the star club of the French football league Achraf Hakim about rape, a French newspaper Le Parisien tells.

The woman had gone to the police station on Sunday and told that she had been raped. The alleged act is said to have taken place between Saturday and Sunday at Hakim’s home.

The woman claims that Hakimi had kissed her, taken off her clothes and inserted his fingers inside her despite the prohibitions.

Spanish sports magazine FLAT said Hakim was home alone at the weekend. His wife and the couple’s children were on vacation in Dubai. Both Le Parisien and AS said Hakim paid for the woman’s trip to the football star’s home over the weekend.

According to the woman, the two met through Instagram in mid-January.

Woman did not want to file a lawsuit against Hakim, according to Le Parisien, but the prosecutor had taken the case under investigation due to its seriousness.

Hakimi, 24, was part of Morocco’s core men at the World Championships played in Qatar at the end of last year. Morocco finished fourth in the tournament.

Hakimi, who has played in PSG’s defense since the 2021-2022 season, was not in the team’s squad on Sunday in the assembly in an away match against Marseille.

“José Ramón Cossío, a fake, lawyer, Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice in full narco-state, supported by Calderón, never said anything and he voted against a resolution to punish those responsible for the fire at the ABC nursery in Hermosillo where babies and children died and he is like the moral authority of the movement, the champion of legality,” said the federal president.

“I would even like that I sent you from the networks, a gallery of leaders of these marches and those who participate because people also do not know it because the media cover them up, so they have to be shown, they have to be covered up, because as soon as they see them, people know what they are about,” López Obrador said.

  • Pak probe agency accuses Imran of misusing interim bail

Pak probe agency accuses Imran of misusing interim bail

    [ad_1]

Islamabad: Pakistans Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of “misusing” his interim bail to skip court hearings as it petitioned a banking court hearing his prohibited funding case to form a medical board to examine the former Prime Minister, media reports said.

The FIA had in October 2022 booked Khan and other PTI leaders in connection with their party allegedly receiving prohibited funding, Dawn reported.

The case was filed by the state through FIA’s Corporate Banking Circle in Islamabad.

Later, a special court in Islamabad had granted him an interim bail, in which he kept getting an extension on medical grounds, after he received bullet wounds in an assassination bid at a rally in Wazirabad on Nov 3 last year, Dawn reported.

In a fresh application filed with Islamabad’s banking court today, the FIA said a bail application filed by Imran was pending before the court.

“After getting an interim bail, the accused is misusing the concession and not appearing before this honourable court and in fact, he is not cooperating with the process of law and till date, neither he joined the investigation nor he is appearing before the court on one pretext or the other,” the agency said, Dawn reported.

It also said that a “stereotype medical certificate” was being presented from a cancer hospital, “although the petitioner alleges he has issues related to orthopedic”.

The FIA pointed out that the medical report presented by Khan was issued by a hospital which was owned by him, “thus the said reports are otherwise not credible”, Dawn reported.

The agency said, “The principles of fair play and justice requires that the accused is to be examined by the board of expert doctors on the subject from PIMS or polyclinic and if their reports can be entertained.”

“It is respectfully prayed that order of the constitution of a medical board and examination of accused may graciously be passed and said board may kindly be directed to submit report qua physical health or mobility of accused in the light of injuries claimed by him on his leg in the best interest of justice,” the FIA said in its prayer to the court.

  • Nawazuddin’s estranged wife accuses him of rape, files police complaint with proof

Nawazuddin’s estranged wife accuses him of rape, files police complaint with proof

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: In another twist to their ongoing saga, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui has charged him with alleged rape and lodged a complaint with Versova Police Station here on Friday.

Aaliya, who had slapped a divorce notice to Nawazuddin in 2021, herself made the announcement on her Instagram account, though police officials declined to comment.

“A rape complaint (with proof) has been filed against him at Versova Police Station yesterday (Thursday),” she said in the video post. “Whatever may happen, I will not allow my innocent kids go in their heartless hands,” Aaliya declared, becoming emotional while recounting her purported ordeal.

Married in 2009, the couple has been in the limelight for the past few weeks hurling allegations at each other on various domestic and personal issues and their children, daughter Shora and son Yaani.

In January 2022, Nawazuddin’s mother had filed a police complaint against Aaliya for allegedly trespassing into the actor’s home and she lodged a counter-complaint against her mother-in-law alleging domestic violence.

This time, Aaliya has labelled her mother-in-law as “heartless” who allegedly called her “my innocent child illegitimate” even as Nawazuddin remained silent.

Slamming Nawazuddin for seeking custody of their kids, Aaliya countered how he has never experienced the joy of the children, didn’t know how to use a diaper, didn’t realise when the kids grew up, and now he is trying to “steal” them from her to prove he is a good father.

“He is a coward dada he is stealing the kids (who are admitted to a Dubai school) from a mother by abusing his power and fame, but forgets that the Almighty is the most powerful,” she said.

Aaliya contended that she had always considered Nawazuddin as her husband, but he never accepted her as his wife though she had given the most important years of her life to him.

She alleged how she was grappling with financial losses and now Nawazuddin has weakened her more from all sides, but she had full faith in the courts and law and expressed confidence that the verdict would be in her favour.

In earlier posts, she had alleged that her husband and mother-in-law did not give food and other basic necessities, put restrictions on her access to the bathroom, how she and her kids were reportedly kept in a room in Nawazuddin’s home, etc.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday accused NATO of actively participating in the war in Ukraine and working to dissolve his country.

During an interview aired on the state-owned Rossia-1 channel to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Putin claimed that by “sending tens of billions of dollars in weapons to Ukraine” the North Atlantic Alliance was taking part in the war.

He further accused the West of having “one goal: to disband the former Soviet Union and its fundamental part … the Russian Federation.”

The Russian president said Moscow could not ignore NATO’s nuclear capabilities moving forward and argued that his country was in a fight for its own survival within “this new world that is taking shape [and] being built only in the interests of just one country, the United States.”

“I do not even know if such an ethnic group as the Russian people will be able to survive in the form in which it exists today,” he added.

NIA accuses Navlakha of links with ISI agent in US, opposes bail plea

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Activist Gautam Navlakha, arrested in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, had connections with a Pakistani ISI agent arrested in the US, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has told the Bombay High Court while opposing his bail application.

The agency, in its affidavit filed in response to Navlakha’s plea, also claimed that he had “committed acts that had a direct impact on the national security, unity and sovereignty.”

NIA lawyer Sandesh Patil on Monday informed a division bench of Justices A S Gadkari and P D Naik that it had filed its reply opposing Navlakha’s bail plea.

The bench said it would hear arguments on the application on February 27.

The NIA in its affidavit claimed that Navlakha had visited the United States thrice to speak at the Kashmiri American Council Conference organised by Ghulam Nabi Fai with whom Navlakha was in touch regularly.

“Ghulam Nabi Fai was arrested by the (US agency) FBI in July 2011 for accepting funds from the ISI and Pakistan government….Navlakha had written a letter to the judge of the US court trying Ghulam Nabi Fai’s case for clemency,” the NIA said.

“Gautam Navlakha was introduced to a Pakistani ISI General for his recruitment by Ghulam Nabi Fai on the direction of the ISI, showing his nexus and complicity with Ghulam Nabi Fai and Pakistani ISI,” the agency further claimed.

Navlakha is presently under house arrest, instead of being in jail, as permitted by the Supreme Court on health grounds.

The agency also stated that Navlakha has “deep links with CPI (Maoist) and he espouses Maoist ideology and anti-government utterances through his various lectures and videos.”

The objective of these activities was to overthrow the government, it said.

Navlakha was assigned tasks such as uniting intellectuals against government forces and recruitment of cadres for “guerrilla activities of CPI (Maoist)”, the NIA alleged.

He was not merely supporting a banned terror organisation but “had an active role in furthering CPI (Maoist) activities,” it claimed.

The Elgar case relates to alleged inflammatory speeches made at the Elgar Parishad conclave held in Pune on December 31, 2017, which the police claimed triggered violence the next day near the Koregaon-Bhima war memorial in Pune district.

Police had also claimed the conclave was backed by Maoists. Later the probe in the case, where more than a dozen activists and academicians have been named as accused, was transferred to the NIA.

  • Telangana: Bandi Sanjay accuses KCR of installing meters for pump sets

Telangana: Bandi Sanjay accuses KCR of installing meters for pump sets

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday accused chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of conspiring to instal meters for agriculture pumpsets and throwing the blame on the Centre.

Speaking to reporters after calling on the BJP workers of Kamalapur, who were arrested and released from jail later, Sanjay said the KCR government had written a letter to the Centre stating that it would instal meters for agriculture pumpsets, as a pre-condition for borrowing more loans.

“It has been a practice for KCR, whenever there are elections in the state, to propagate utter lies stating that if the BJP comes to power, it would instal meters for agriculture motors. Now, I will prove that the state government itself has written a letter to the Centre agreeing to the condition that it would instal meters to the pumpsets for obtaining more loans,” he said.

Stating that the electricity department would not take up installation of meters for farm pumpsets without a green signal from the chief minister, Sanjay challenged the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to prove him wrong.

The BJP president also dubbed the chief minister a liar for claiming to provide round-the-clock power supply to agriculture sector free of cost.

“It is a blatant lie. In fact, in many villages, nobody knows when the power supply gets disconnected. The electricity authorities are informing the farmers about disconnection of three-phase power supply. Yet, KCR and his cabinet colleagues are indulging in lies,” he said.

Sanjay said the entire electricity department was in deep crisis with employees not getting salaries on time and the power bill arrears to the extent of Rs 20,000 crore were piling up with the discoms due to non-payment by the government departments.

“The government is not compensating to the Discoms for the free power supply. The Discoms, which are reeling under losses to the extent of Rs 70,000 crore, are on the verge of closure,” he alleged.

Sanjay also accused the KCR government of spreading canards against the Centre on approval to Bayyaram Steel Plant, release of Central grants to the state and privatisation of Singareni. “We have thrown a challenge to the chief minister that we shall expose his lies. But he has not responded to our challenge so far,” he said.

Sanjay lashed out at the police for foisting false cases against the BJP workers of Kamalapur who countered the attacks of the BRS leaders on local BJP MLA Eatala Rajender.

“The police resorted to indiscriminate lathi-charge on the BJP workers. The BRS will be in power only for a few months. After the BJP comes to power, we shall take these police officials to task. They have to be ready to face he repercussions,” he stated.

  • US formally accuses Russia of crimes against humanity in Ukraine, Harris says

US formally accuses Russia of crimes against humanity in Ukraine, Harris says

    [ad_1]

Press play to listen to this article

    Voiced by artificial intelligence.

MUNICH — The United States has determined that Russia is committing crimes against humanity in Ukraine, Vice President Kamala Harris announced Saturday, the latest salvo in the West’s effort to hold Moscow accountable for its wartime atrocities.

In a marquee address at the Munich Security Conference, Harris detailed that Russia is responsible for a “widespread and systematic attack” against Ukraine’s civilian population, citing evidence of execution-style killings, rape, torture and forceful deportations — sometimes perpetrated against children. As a result, Russia has not only committed war crimes, as the administration formally concluded in March, but also illegal acts against non-combatants.

“Their actions are an assault on our common values, an attack on our common humanity,” the vice president said, referencing images of bodies lying in the streets of Bucha and the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl by a Russian soldier. “Barbaric and inhumane.”

Harris then declared: “The United States has formally determined that Russia has committed crimes against humanity.”

The Biden administration will continue to assist Ukraine in its investigation into these alleged crimes, she said, vowing that the perpetrators and “their superiors” will be “held to account.”

She added: “Let us all agree: on behalf of all the victims, both known and unknown: justice must be served.”

The declaration is among the most forceful yet from a Western power as allies grapple with how to punish Russians responsible for violations. And it escalates the judicial side of America’s support for Ukraine, which has long said Russia was guilty of these crimes and that Russian President Vladimir Putin was ultimately responsible.

Harris didn’t cite Putin by name, but the clear implication is that the invasion he launched nearly a year ago is why Ukrainian civilians are now victims of these international law violations.

While “crimes against humanity” are not officially codified in an international treaty, they are still adjudicated in the International Criminal Court and other global bodies. The Biden administration’s determination means the U.S. believes Russian actions have met a broader standard than war crimes but not as specific a violation as genocide.

“In contrast with genocide, crimes against humanity do not need to target a specific group,” according to the United Nations. “Instead, the victim of the attack can be any civilian population, regardless of its affiliation or identity. Another important distinction is that in the case of crimes against humanity, it is not necessary to prove that there is an overall specific intent.”

Some, however, would like the Biden administration to go further. Back in the United States, both of West Virginia’s senators, Democrat Joe Manchin and Republican Shelley Moore Capito, introduced a resolution to recognize Russia’s war on Ukraine as a genocide.

Others like Tom Malinowski, a former member of Congress and senior human rights official at the State Department, believe “these debates about what to call Russia’s atrocities are less important than providing Ukraine the means to stop them.”

“But yes, there’s no question that Russia is committing crimes against humanity,” he continued, “and we’re right to say so.”

On Friday, shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke via video to the gathering of officials and experts here, Andriy Yermak, the chief of Ukraine’s presidential office, said his country wouldn’t feel safe until Russia’s leadership was punished.

“The fastest and easiest way to build the security of Ukraine and the whole world is to create a special tribunal to try the Russian leadership for the crime of aggression. Europe and the entire civilized world understand why it is necessary,” he said at the opening of the “Ukraine is You” exhibit.

Last November, human rights organization Amnesty International said Russia was “likely” committing crimes against humanity, citing instances of the forceful transfer and deportation of people from Ukraine.

Russia envoy accuses US of fueling Ukraine war with ‘crimes against humanity’ charge

Washington is trying to “demonize Russia” and “fuel the Ukrainian crisis” by accusing Moscow of crimes against humanity, Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov said on Sunday.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced Saturday that Washington has formally determined that Russia is committing crimes against humanity in Ukraine, in an address at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

In a message on the social media network Telegram, Antonov said: “We consider such insinuations as an attempt, unprecedented in terms of its cynicism, to demonize Russia in the course of a hybrid war, unleashed against us. There is no doubt that the purpose of such attacks is to justify Washington’s own actions to fuel the Ukrainian crisis,” he said.

Harris had said Russia is responsible for a “widespread and systematic attack” against Ukraine’s civilian population, committing war crimes — as the administration formally concluded last March — and illegal acts against non-combatants. She cited evidence of execution-style killings, rape, torture and forceful deportations.

The Biden administration will continue to assist Ukraine in investigating these alleged crimes, she said, pledging to hold “to account” the perpetrators and “their superiors.”

“Let us all agree: on behalf of all the victims, both known and unknown: justice must be served,” Harris added.
