Cheque Bounce Rule: If you also pay through cheque, then it is very important to take care of many things. Otherwise, if the Cheque  bounces, you may have to go to jail along with the fine. Cheque bounce is considered a legal offense in the language of the court. In this, a provision has been made for punishment under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881.

    When does a Cheque bounce?

When a bank rejects a Cheque for some reason and the payment is not made, it is called Cheque bounce. The reason for this happening is mostly due to lack of balance in the account. Apart from this, even if there is a difference in the person’s signature, the bank rejects the cheque.

    Reasons for Cheque bounce

    – Payee’s bank account does not have sufficient funds
    – Signature does not match
    – Account number does not match
    – Cheque issued with date
    – Amount does not match in words and figures
    – Mutilated Cheque
    – overdraft limit

What happens after a Cheque bounces?

When the Cheque bounces, the person giving the Cheque has to inform about it. After which he has to pay you within 1 month. In case of not doing so, a legal notice is sent to the person. Even after that, if no reply is given for 15 days, then a case is registered against him under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the person can be prosecuted and the Cheque drawer can be punished for up to two years.

How long is the Cheque period?

Cheques, bank drafts are currently valid for 3 months from their issue.

Why are they valid only for 3 months?

It is common banking practice to dishonor a Cheque older than 3 months. This practice is for the protection of the person who has written the cheque, as there is a possibility that the payment may have been made through some other means or the Cheque may have been lost or stolen.

Keep these things in mind before issuing a cheque-

Whenever you give a Cheque to someone, make sure that you have money in your account.
Apart from this, the person taking the v should get it cashed within three months.
Whenever you pay someone with a cheque, avoid giving more space between words and figures regarding the name and amount.
Whenever you sign a bank cheque, remember that you have to sign in the same way as it is already recorded in the records of the concerned bank branch.

Whenever you pay someone through a bank cheque, make sure to note down the details of the Cheque like Cheque number, account name, amount and date.
    Always issue account payee cheques.
The signature on the Cheque should be registered with the bank.
    – Fill in the information on the check carefully and correctly.

Ramazan will start on 23 March (Tomorrow) in Pakistan

Pakistan will  observe the first day of Ramadan on March 23 as the nation readies itself for the holy month’s festivities and prayers.

Meanwhile in Saudi Arabia, too, the first day of Ramadan is on March 23.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan, also known as Ramzan/Ramazan/Ramzaan is one of the five pillars of Islam during which they abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, evil thoughts and action and having marital relations from dawn until sunset.

Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar that takes place for 720 hours i.e. four weeks and two days during which the followers of Islam fast between dawn and sunset, pray for peace and guidance, give back to the community in the form of charity or zakaat or engaging in humanitarian activities such as feeding the underprivileged and introspect to enlighten their souls.

KARACHI: Pakistan will likely observe the first day of Ramadan on March 23, a top weatherman said Monday, as the nation readies itself for the holy month’s festivities and prayers.

In conversation with Geo.tv, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said that the chances of the holy month of Ramadan falling on March 23 were high, therefore, the first fast was likely to be observed on Thursday.

However, he said that the sky should remain clear so that the moon can be easily sighted.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said Friday that rainfall is expected to start from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the Met department, the country is likely to witness rain in the last days of March. However, the second and the last Ashra of Ramadan is expected to remain relatively hot.

Meanwhile in Saudi Arabia, too, the first day of Ramadan is on March 23.

According to the report from an Arab media outlet, Dr Abdullah Al-Massand, a former professor of astronomy at Al-Qassim University in Saudi Arabia and deputy chairman of the Meteorological Society, said that the first day of Ramadan is expected to be observed on March 23.

Dr Massand was of the view that the holy month of Shaban will have 30 days because, on the 29th of Shaban, the “crescent will be lightening just before nine minutes after the sunset”.

He also said that the convergence of the sun and the moon will be taking place on the 29th of Shaban which means on the evening of March 21 at 8:23pm. Therefore, he added, the first day of Ramadan will be observed on March 23.

Prior to this, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, had also forecast that the first day of the holy month would likely be observed on March 23 with Eid ul Fitr likely taking place on April 21.

According to the Saudi government, after the sunset of March 21, the sighting of the moon for the holy month will begin.

A photograph of a wrecked building has been doing rounds within communities on social media platforms, claiming to be located in north Kashmir and hit by the earthquake Tuesday evening.

Several claims have been attached with the photograph, including the death of three persons in Kupwara. Even more absurd, a police station. Or a regional politician’s residence.

However, when the image was reverse searched by The Kashmir Walla, it was found to be a building from Turkey. It was clicked by Firat Ozdemir for Anadolu Agency.

The country was hit by repeated fatal earthquakes in February this year that killed over 60,000 people.

A Kupwara District Administration official confirmed to The Kashmir Walla that no casualties have been reported in Tuesday evening earthquake.
