Not 100cr, SRK’s actual fee for Pathaan is Rs…

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has become the talk of the town in Bollywood! The action-packed spy thriller has not only revived the Indian film industry, but it has also broken several box office records. In just a few weeks, the film has grossed over Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office, making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Furthermore, a latest report in Bollywood Hungama indicate that SRK received a whopping 60% of the total profit as his remuneration for the film. Pathaan was made on a Rs 270 crore budget, and Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films made a Rs 333 crore profit, with the superstar actor reportedly pocketing Rs 200 crore from the overall profits.

The success of the film can be attributed to its star-studded cast, which includes Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, and Salman Khan in a cameo appearance. But it’s SRK ‘s excellent portrayal as a badass spy that steals the show.

    MS Education Academy

Pathaan has served as a sort of comeback for Shah Rukh Khan following the failure of his previous film, Zero. The actor spent the majority of the lockdown with his children and even joked about pursuing a second career as a chef. However, with the success of Pathaan, it appears that the superstar actor is back with a bang and has reaffirmed his position as Bollywood’s king.

Speaking about his upcoming movies, SRK has Dunki and Jawan in his kitty.

1st consignment of discounted Russian crude to arrive in Pak in May

    [ad_1]

Islamabad: Cash-strapped Pakistan has placed its first order for discounted Russian crude oil, which is expected to arrive in the port city of Karachi next month, an official said on Thursday, a decision that may provide some relief to the people already hit by skyrocketing inflation.

Pakistan, which is currently grappling with high external debt and a weak local currency, is hopeful that snapping crude at discounted rates from Russia will stabilise oil prices in the country.

Petrol now costs a record Rs 282 per litre, following the revision announced by the government last week.

    MS Education Academy

“We have placed our orders and the first consignment is expected to reach Karachi in May,” an official in Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum told PTI.

According to the deal, Pakistan will only import crude oil from Russia, and refine it through a local dealer.

The official didn’t provide details about the price at which the Russian crude would be imported.

The move is expected to provide some relief to the people already hit by double-digit inflation.

He, however, confirmed that it would have a positive impact on the supply side and stabilise prices.

In December last year, Russia refused to provide Pakistan with a 30 per cent discount on its crude after the Pakistani delegation asked for a reduction in price.

A Russian delegation arrived in Islamabad in January this year to hold talks and settle technical issues such as insurance and mortgage.

Energy accounts for the biggest share of Pakistan’s imports, and cheaper oil from Russia will help Pakistan in containing the ballooning trade deficit and balance-of-payments crisis.

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have plummeted to USD 4 billion, the country’s central bank said last week.

The cataclysmic floods last year inundated a third of the country, displaced more than 33 million and caused economic damages to the tune of USD 12.5 billion to Pakistan’s already teetering economy.

Pakistan and the IMF have failed to reach a staff-level agreement on the much-needed USD 1.1 billion bailout package aimed at preventing the country from going bankrupt.

The funds are part of a USD 6.5 billion bailout package the IMF approved in 2019, which analysts say is critical if Pakistan is to avoid defaulting on external debt obligations.

  • Avg monthly rent in north, east Bengaluru rises up to 24% in Jan-Mar: Anarock

Avg monthly rent in north, east Bengaluru rises up to 24% in Jan-Mar: Anarock

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: North and east Bengaluru have witnessed maximum appreciation of up to 24 per cent in average monthly rent for a 1,000-square feet two-bedroom apartment in the last one year among seven major cities, according to property consultant Anarock.

In its report released on Thursday, real estate consultant Anarock said that Thanisandra Main Road and Marathahalli-ORR in Bengaluru recorded highest residential rental growth of 24 per cent each year-on-year in January-March period for a standard 2BHK home of 1,000 square feet area.

Whitefield and Sarajpur in Bengaluru were at second and third positions with 21 per cent and 20 per cent growth, respectively, in rental between January-March 2022 and January-March 2023.

    MS Education Academy

The consultant said that areas in east and north Bengaluru have seen a spurt in rental demand.

Bengaluru currently has the highest rental yield of 4.1 per cent among all major cities, followed by Mumbai with 3.9 per cent.

Prashant Thakur, Sr Director & Head – Research, Anarock Group, said, “When it comes to rental demand and zooming rents, Bengaluru currently stands out among the top 7 cities, with east and north Bengaluru the biggest blips on the rental radar map owing to the IT/ITeS belt there.”

Abhishek Tripathi, co-founder, Settl, said: “In a place like Bangalore during the pandemic, huge capital was deployed into hiring talent, especially in the IT sector and startups. During the same time, due to labour shortage, the increase in building supply was restricted and when the lockdown restrictions were removed and offices started to open up, people started moving to tier-I cities and settling down.”

“This disparity has created a housing crisis, especially in tier 1 cities in Bangalore. Hence, the increase in rent is a result of these multifarious factors,” Tripathi said.

As per the report, average monthly rentals for a standard 2BHK home of 1,000 sq ft at Thanisandra Main Road increased from Rs 21,000 per month in Q1 (January-March) 2022 to Rs 26,000/month in Q1, 2023.

At Marathahalli-ORR, average monthly rentals increased from Rs 22,500/month last year to Rs 28,000/month in Q1 2023.

The data showed that Pune’s three standout markets with high rental growth between Q1 2022 and Q1 2023 are Hinjewadi, Baner and Wagholi, which witnessed rental value growth of 19 per cent, 15 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively.

In Chennai, the top 3 markets to witness high rental values growth are Pallavaram, Perambur and Oragadam, with rents in this period growing by 16 per cent, 10 per cent and 11 per cent respectively.

In NCR, the top three markets were Sohna Road in Gurugram (rental values increased by 13 per cent), Sector-150 in Noida (15 per cent growth) and Dwarka in Delhi with a rental value growth of 10 per cent.

In MMR, the top three markets for rental value growth were Chembur, Ghodbunder Road (Thane) and Mulund, which saw 17 per cent, 14 per cent and 14 per cent growth, respectively.

Kolkata’s top three markets with high rental value growth between Q1 2022 and Q1 2023 were EM Bypass, Joka and Rajarhat, where rents rose by 13 per cent, 11 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively.

In Hyderabad, the top three markets were HITECH City and Kondapur, which saw rental values increase by 12 per cent each, and Gachibowli with 11 per cent growth.

  • ‘Frustrating’: Ukraine slams EU for failing to deliver on ammo plan

‘Frustrating’: Ukraine slams EU for failing to deliver on ammo plan

    [ad_1]

    ukraine germany russia war 26892

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba slammed the EU on Thursday for failing to “implement its own decision” to jointly purchase ammunition for Ukraine as the bloc’s members spar over how to enact the plans.

“The inability of the EU to implement its own decision on the joint procurement of ammunition for Ukraine is frustrating,” Kuleba said on Twitter, marking a considerable change in tone from Kyiv toward the club it hopes to join.

EU leaders agreed last month on the idea to band together and draw money from a communal pot to help deliver Kyiv up to 1 million shells in the next 12 months as Ukraine fights off Russia’s invasion. But negotiations have hit an impasse at the ambassador level over how to spend the €1 billion set aside for joint contracts.

Kuleba said this was a test of the EU’s ability to make crucial new security decisions and whether the bloc truly has “strategic autonomy” — echoing the favorite term used by French President Emmanuel Macron when he recently stirred up controversy by saying Europe must not become “America’s followers.”

The main point of contention in the ammunition purchase talks revolves around how much to restrict the money to EU manufacturers, and whether to include companies in places like the U.S. and U.K.

France has been leading the charge to keep the money within the bloc, while others, including Poland, fear that Europe’s defense industry may not be up to the task of delivering 1 million shells to Ukraine in the promised timeframe of 12 months.

Talks will likely continue next week, meaning EU foreign ministers won’t have a deal in hand when they meet on Monday in Luxembourg to discuss the war.

“For Ukraine, the cost of inaction is measured in human lives,” Kuleba said.
