T20 WC: Rain may play spoilsport in England vs Pakistan cricket spectacle at Melbourne.

The T20 World Cup final, a much-awaited cricket spectacle awaited by fans could be spoiled, as there are significant changes that the November 13 match in Melbourne, could be plagued by rain.

Weather predictions by the Bureau of Meteorology, the Austalia government states high chances of a shower during late morning and afternoon on Sunday. “Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of showers developing during the late morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe. Winds northerly 25 to 35 km/h tending north to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the evening then becoming light in the late evening,” predicted the Bureau of Meteorology.

Cricket fans worldwide have been waiting for the pinnacle of the T20 World Cup, but might be forced to see the final either being pushed to the reserve day or the possibility of the cup being shared by the two teams.

The weather for the reserve day, Monday, November 14 isn’t encouraging either with the possibility of 100 per cent rain on the day, and rainfall upto 8 to 15 mm.

“Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of showers, becoming less likely in the evening. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds northwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h turning west to southwesterly at 25 to 35 km/h in the late morning and early afternoon,” stated the Bureau of Meteorology.

The tournament has been pestered by rain with matches being washed out without a ball being bowled.

Sunday’s final could meet the same fate, which will be a tragic end to probably the best T20 World Cup in history; owing to the fact that it saw unexpected results and was full of twists.

In the ongoing T20 World Cup summit clash, England will lock horns with Pakistan on Sunday and both teams will look forward to capturing their second title.

England takes on Pakistan in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.

The Three Lions first won their T20 WC in 2010 defeating Ashes rivals Australia in the final by 7 wickets in West Indies, while Pakistan bagged their maiden title in 2009 when they beat Sri Lanka by 8-wicket in England. (ANI)

Himachal Pradesh Polls: Voting Begins; Will HP Keep Alternate Government Traditions Or Give Another Chance To BJP?

    [ad_1]

    • Will Himachal Pradesh keep selecting alternate government tradition alive or give another chance to Bhartiya Janata Party
    • Voting for 68 Assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh begins, CM Jai Ram Thakur casts his vote
    • Request all voters to participate with full enthusiasm in this festival of democracy, says PM Modi

The voting for the Himachal Pradesh elections has begun, with a two-pronged contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. In the hill state, over 55.92 lakh voters will decide the fate of 412 candidates.

The upper areas of Himachal Pradesh have received new snowfall, lowering the temperature by several notches. 140 polling booths are snowbound in the tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, and Chamba.

A total of 30,000 security personnel, including 67 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), have been deployed throughout the state to ensure the peaceful conduct of the election.

The state has 7,884 voting locations, with 7,235 in rural areas and 646 in urban areas. Polling will continue until 5:30 p.m. today, and votes will be counted alongside Gujarat on December 8.

The ruling BJP has expressed confidence in returning to power based on performance, while the Congress hopes that voters will continue the history of alternate governments.

In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP won 44 seats, the Congress 21, two were won by independents, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) gained one seat by fielding candidates in 11 assembly divisions.

In its manifesto, the opposition Congress promised the restoration of the previous pension scheme, 300 units of free electricity, the establishment of a commission for the youth to look into their issues of education and job creation, as well as financial aid of Rs 1500 to women.

Meanwhile, the BJP is vying for a second term, promising to adopt the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), 33 percent reservation for women in government employment, five new medical institutes in the state, and cycles for girl students in classes 6 to 12.

  • Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case: Supreme Court Orders Release Of All Convicts, Including Nalini And Ravichandran

Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case: Supreme Court Orders Release Of All Convicts, Including Nalini And Ravichandran

    [ad_1]

The Supreme Court ordered the release of all six remaining convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, including Nalini Sriharan, R P Ravichandran, Santhan, Murugan, Robert Payas, and Jayakumar, on Friday. The judgement was issued by a bench comprised of Justices BR Gavai and BV Nagarathna while considering the case of A G Perarivalan, another convict who was released in May.

Nalini, who is now on parole, petitioned the Supreme Court for early release from prison after the Madras High Court denied her plea. Her plea was submitted after the Supreme Court, on May 18, ordered the release of Perarivalan, who had served more than 30 years in prison, by exercising its special powers under Article 142 of the Constitution. The Article empowers the Supreme Court to issue orders in order to secure “complete justice” in a case. In seeking similar relief, Nalini cited Perarivalan’s case, according to a report by Indian Express.

On May 21, 1991, an LTTE suicide bomber assassinated former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi during an electoral meeting in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur.

In the case, seven prisoners were sentenced to life in prison. The Supreme Court sentenced four of them to death and three to life in prison in 1999. Nalini’s death sentence was commuted to life in prison in 2000. The Supreme Court commuted the other three death sentences, including Perarivalan’s, in 2014.

Mocking New Verification Process, Fake Verified Twitter Profiles Of George W Bush, Tony Blair Tweeted Controversial Tweets

    [ad_1]

Verified Twitter accounts with blue check marks bearing the profile names of former President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair reminisced about the Iraq War on Wednesday.

A tweet screenshot that is viral on Twitter shows George W. Bush tweeting, “I miss killing Iraqis,” while Tony Blair quotes him and writes, “Same tbh.” But the Twitter accounts are not actually managed by Bush and Blair and are fake, according to reports.

After Twitter changed its verification process and eligibility, now everyone can get the blue checkmark after paying monthly fees as a subscription to Twitter Blue. This change is criticised by the majority of people across the world.

To mock the change in verification, two anonymous accounts that used the names of George W. Bush and Tony Blair tweeted the controversial tweet, the reports say.

In contrast, it was one or more anonymous users who were mocking the upgraded verification process introduced by Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, and who charge $8 per month. They created user identities that resembled those of Bush and Blair before enrolling in the premium system to obtain the blue check mark.

Their conversation might have appeared genuine to a casual observer.

As later explained by the fake Bush profile:

Verified Twitter accounts with blue check marks bearing the profile names of former President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair reminisced about the Iraq War.
    Twitter screenshot

“Y’all are missing the point about the $8. “It’s a small price to make this app completely unusable, and I’m assuming he is going to quickly learn we can get refunds from the credit cards we used if he suspends us prior to a month.”

Critics fear that the new verification process will make it simpler to impersonate others and facilitate the spreading of false information, especially in the case of public figures who choose not to pay the monthly charge.

Musk has vowed to suspend profiles that impersonate others.

Within hours following the posts, Twitter deleted both fake accounts.
