Jammu. The protest against the opening of liquor shops in the city is increasing continuously. On Wednesday also, women demonstrated when the liquor shop opened in Shakti Nagar. As soon as the stock reached the shop, local women started shouting slogans and warned of self-immolation. Seeing the dispute escalating, the police also reached the spot and in the presence of the officers, the shopkeeper kept the stock in the shop. The women say that they will not allow liquor shops to open near their homes. Earlier there was a naan shop, but now a liquor shop has been opened.
The protesting women said that they have daughters-in-law in their homes. When the liquor shop opens, every moment there will be a gathering of drug addicts.
