Do not download e-Aadhaar from public computer
UIDAI says that never use public computers at internet cafes or kiosks to download e-Aadhaar.
keep mobile number updated
UIDAI says that always keep your mobile number updated in Aadhaar. If you have any doubts about your mobile number or email ID linked with Aadhaar, then get it verified immediately by visiting the Aadhaar website https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify-email-mobile.
Use Masked Aadhaar or VID
It is not necessary that you disclose your 16 digit Aadhaar number everywhere. Instead you can use VID (Virtual ID) or Masked Aadhaar. It is completely valid.
UIDAI does not ask for your details
UIDAI has said that no phone, SMS or email is sent from its side for the information of the Aadhaar card holder, in which the information of Aadhaar OTP is asked. So if you get such a message then be careful.
