TS EMCET from tomorrow; Inter marks won’t be considered for ranking

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is all set to begin on Wednesday. However, this year the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) announced that intermediate marks won’t be taken into consideration while ranking.

During the pandemic, the TSCHE had not considered intermediate marks for deciding the final rank of the EAMCET examination.

However, this change was made without prior notice. Starting in 2023, the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) weightage is believed to be permanently waived off for all applicants appearing for EAMCET.

    MS Education Academy

Those who clear the exam will be eligible for admission into first-year undergraduate professional courses, including BE, BTech, BPharmacy, BSc, BVSc, and PharmD, offered by colleges in the state.

The convener of TS EAMCET, Dr B Dean Kumar on Monday asserted that students appearing for the EAMCET exam must strictly adhere to the instructions given on the hall ticket.

Students have been especially cautioned to reach the exam centres on time. The convenor said that those coming late or changing slots will not be permitted to write the exam.

The TS-EAMCET-2023 is scheduled to be held from May 10 to 14 in two sessions, between 9 am and 12 noon (morning session) and 3 pm and 6 pm (afternoon session).

The exam convener has requested all the local authorities including superintendents of police, commissioners of police, electricity board, and TSRTC for their cooperation in providing arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination in 104 centres in Telangana.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) will be the centre of the exam in Hyderabad. Candidates can download the hall tickets at the website.

No matter how hard BJP tries, development work won’t stop in Delhi: Sisodia

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who is in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in the Delhi excise policy case, said on Monday that no matter how hard the BJP tries, development work will not be stalled in the national capital.

“Be it in Patparganj or other parts of Delhi, development work will not stop. No matter how hard the BJP people tries, no work will stop in Delhi,” Sisodia said after coming out of the Rouse Avenue Court, which extended his judicial custody till May 23.

The court also allowed an application moved by his legal team seeking permisson for Sisodia to sign certain documents for approving the disbursement of funds for development work in his constituency (Patparganj).

    MS Education Academy

The ED had arrested Sisodia on March 9 after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him on February 26 this year in the same case.

The ED has alleged that Sisodia was the mastermind behind the entire excise policy case and that he had deliberately leaked the policy to the co-accused to generate financial kickbacks.

BJP won’t give reservations to Muslims in Karnataka: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Bagalkot: Attacking Congress over “appeasement politics” ahead of Karnataka assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not allow Muslim reservations in the state.

Addressing a public meeting in Hunagunda, Shah said, “BJP has strengthened the security of the nation by banning the Popular Front of India (PFI), but the Congress party is against it… BJP will neither allow Muslim reservations nor will allow Lingayat reservations to be reduced in the state.”

Exuding confidence in Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the upcoming Karnataka elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the party will return to power with a full majority.

    MS Education Academy

Shah held a mega roadshow in Doddaballapura on Sunday.

“We will win the elections by full majority or at least half a mark plus 15 seats. In these four years, Yediyurappa and Bommai government has done a lot of work,” the Union Home Minister told ANI.

The 224-seat Karnataka assembly will go to polls on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. The majority mark to form the government is 113 seats.

Attacking Congress, Shah further said, “Congress gives false promises everywhere and loses elections. They take support of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) which Karnataka’s people do not like and are furious about it.”

The BJP is eyeing a second term in the state and has exuded confidence in retaining power with a full majority.

Notably, Karnataka is the only State in the South where BJP is in power.

Campaigning for the 10 May elections in Karnataka is at its peak with multiple rallies, public meetings and interactions across the State.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega roadshow in Bengaluru on Sunday. He also held public meetings at Nanjangud in Mysuru and Shivamogga.

Cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’ won’t affect TN: Regional Met office

    [ad_1]

Chennai: The cyclonic system prevailing over Bay of Bengal that is likely to intensify into cyclonic storm by May 9 will not have an impact on Tamil Nadu, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here said on Sunday.

The cyclonic storm, named ‘Mocha’, according to the RMC, will have less impact on Tamil Nadu as it will move towards the northern direction.

It is likely to intensify into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea around May 9 and later expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm while moving nearly northwards towards central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea.

    MS Education Academy

As the cyclonic storm may not have any impact on Tamil Nadu, the maximum temperature in the state’s interior and coastal districts is expected to surge by two to four degrees Celsius.

The RMC officials said that ‘Mocha’ is at the preliminary stage and the other parameters of the cyclone will be made public only after it develops into a strong cyclone.

NCP imbroglio won’t derail MVA, asserts Uddhav Thackeray

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: In his first reaction to the ongoing crisis rocking the Nationalist Congress Party since three days, Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray said that it will not affect the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), three-party alliance comprising even the Congress.

“I don’t think it will have any impact on the MVA… Even from my side we shall not do anything that could create cracks in the alliance,” declared Thackeray while interacting briefly with the mediapersons.

When asked whether he had spoken to NCP President Sharad Pawar to reconsider his move to step down as party chief, Thackeray shot back in lighter vein: “Who am I to advise Sharad Pawara? What if he doesn’t heed my advice…”

    MS Education Academy

The ex-CM pointed out that Pawar Saheb has the right to take his decisions and each worker of his party (NCP) has the right to convey their reaction to their leadership, and “let’s wait for the NCP committee meeting of tomorrow.”

On his planned Saturday visit to the protest-hit Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd project coming up with Arab help at a cost of Rs 3 lakh-crore, Thackeray said that he is going to meet the people of Barsu and surrounding villagers who are opposing the plant.

“I am not going there to see the strength of the Shiv Sena (UBT) or the Bharatiya Janata Party, but to meet and interact with the local population, hear out their problems or grievances. Unless all their apprehensions are cleared, the project should not be pushed through,” reiterated Thackeray.

To a query on Pawar’s adverse comments in his autobiography, ‘Lok Majhe Sangati’, Thackeray guardedly said that he had nothing to say as “my work as CM is before the whole world and the people of the state who are like a family.”

Nevertheless, Sena (UBT) Chief Spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut has stated that he would reply to Pawar’s observations on Thackeray through the ‘Saamana Group’ soon.

Kills us if you want, won’t tolerate such disrespect: Vinesh Phogat

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Shocked and appalled by the boorish behaviour by the Delhi Police towards protesting wrestlers late Thursday evening, an emotionally distraught Vinesh Phogat said they were not criminals and did not deserve such disrespect.

The wrestlers are sitting on protest from April 23, demanding arrest of WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh alleging that he has sexually harassed seven female grapplers, including one minor.

Around 11 pm, a scuffle broke out at Jantar Mantar between the protesting wrestlers when they were bringing in folding beds for their night stay and the on-duty police personnel allegedly began enquiring about that.

    MS Education Academy

According to the wrestlers, the police officers started behaving badly with them and even abused the women wrestlers.

“If you want to kill us, then kill us,” a crying Vinesh said during a late night media interaction.

“Did we win medals for the country to see this day? We have not even eaten our food. Does every man have a right to abuse women? These police men are holding guns, they can kill us,” an emotionally drained Vinesh said.

“Where were female police officers? How can the male officers push us like that. We are not criminals. We do not deserve such treatment. The police officer who was drunk hit my brother,” the World Championship medallist said.

Bajrang Punia exhorted the farmers and the general public to reach Jantar Mantar in their support.

“I request everyone to reach Delhi by morning. This is the time. If not now, then when. This is question of dignity of our daughters. People like Brij Bhushan (WFI President) are roaming free despite being a criminal and all this is happening to us,” Bajrang said.

Asked to give more details, Bajrang said, “CCTV cameras must be here. Foortage will make it clear.”

Asked specifically if AAP leader Somnath Bharti had brought the folding beds, as being claimed by the Delhi Police, Bajrang said,”CCTV footagecan show he was not there when it happened. We had ordered the beds, we were bringing the beds inside.”

  • If you won’t vote for Cong, Yogi’s bulldozer will come to haunt Karnataka: Kharge

If you won’t vote for Cong, Yogi’s bulldozer will come to haunt Karnataka: Kharge

    [ad_1]

Kalaburagi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Wednesday that if the people of Karnataka do not vote for the party, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanaths bulldozer will come to haunt the southern state as well.

Addressing a huge public rally in Aland in Kalaburagi district, Kharge stated that these days the UP CM is coming to Karnataka frequently. Giving the appearance of a saint, wearing saintly clothes, instead of showing the good path of humanity he instigates clashes between the people. CM Yogi says jo hamare baat nahi manenge, use bulldozer lagake nikal denge. Is desh mein nahin rah sakte. (whoever doesn’t listen to us, we will get rid of them through the bulldozer, they can’t live in this country), said Kharge.

“I think those who are foreigners should be asked to leave the country, not us who are the natives of this country. So I want to tell you, if you won’t give the vote to the Congress party then Yogi’s bulldozer will come here also,” Kharge stated.

    MS Education Academy

Chief Minister Bommai should beware of Modi ji and Amit Shah. The BJP claims they will give a “Mazboot Sarkar” in Karnataka, but they changed multiple CMs. It is an important ‘do or die’ election for Karnataka. The 40 per cent commission state government is damned. It has cheated our people, Kharge said.

This election is not only significant for Karnataka, but for the nation. Karnataka must become corruption free. It must be freed from the 40 per cent BJP misrule, Kharge stated.

Modi ji often says in his speeches that ‘na mein khaunga, na khane dunga!’ (I won’t take bribes, I will not let others take bribes). But Bommai sits next to him. The PM should ask him for a 40 per cent commission, Kharge taunted.

“Modi ji complains about me, baap aur bete ne kuch kaha! (father and son duo have said something against me) He is our Prime Minister, how can we insult him? Irrespective of the party he belongs to, we accept our Prime Minister! We have not insulted him, instead Modi ji has insulted Karnataka, he said.

We brought a Central University in this area. We spent Rs 400 to Rs 500 crore for the building. But teachers are not in full strength. There are vacancies and the number of departments have gone down, he alleged.

We have constructed a Mega ESI hospital here. Later I requested the BJP government to start an AIIMS here. We had spent a thousand crores on the infrastructure. In the main hall in the hospital, 5,000 people can sit, it is such a grand building. But the BJP government does not care. The hospital is not being maintained. Now it has slowly started to turn into a cowshed, Kharge charged.

We had taken approval for the highway from Solapur to Bengaluru, from Bidar to Hiriur, and from Bidar to Mysuru. But the present government has halted all this work. Instead, they spent crores of money to inaugurate the old, already existing Bengaluru-Mysuru express corridor, Kharge alleged.

“Coming back to the issue of our area (Kalaburagi), Article 371(J) is my contribution to the people of this region and therefore, today they can enjoy the privileges in the education and employment sector,” he said.

But Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina had demurred when asked several times by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan whether Trump would testify, leaving the option open.

On Tuesday, however, Tacopina informed Kaplan that Trump had decided against taking the witness stand.

The jury, however, will hear from Trump, albeit not live or in person. An attorney for Carroll said she expects to play about 45 minutes of a videotaped deposition of Trump for jurors.

Jurors heard from a variety of witness on Tuesday, including a friend of Carroll’s, Lisa Birnbach, who testified that Carroll called her about five minutes after the alleged incident at Bergdorf’s and, “breathless” and “hyperventilating,” told Birnbach that Trump had attacked her. Jurors also heard from a woman named Jessica Leeds, who has accused Trump of sexually assaulting her on an airplane in the late 1970s.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee won’t seek fourth term

    [ad_1]

Two prominent Democrats in the state have publicly been mulling runs while Inslee has been making up his mind: state Attorney General Bob Ferguson and Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz.

Both Ferguson and Franz were considered potential replacements in 2020 when Inslee was running for president, but stepped aside once Inslee returned his focus to state office. King County Executive Dow Constantine, another Democrat who is regularly mentioned as a potential gubernatorial hopeful, opted against a run in mid-March.

Whoever wins the Democratic primary will likely be the early favorite in the open race. Inslee cruised by his Republican opponent Loren Culp by over 13 points in 2020.

Inslee, a 72-year-old former chair of the Democratic Governors Association, focused much of his tenure in office — and his brief presidential campaign — on fighting climate change. Before being elected as governor, he served over a dozen years in Congress — for one term in the early 1990s, and then from 1999 until he resigned in early 2012 to focus on his gubernatorial campaign.

He is currently the longest-tenured governor in the country.
