Hyderabad: Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is all set to begin on Wednesday. However, this year the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) announced that intermediate marks won’t be taken into consideration while ranking.

During the pandemic, the TSCHE had not considered intermediate marks for deciding the final rank of the EAMCET examination.

However, this change was made without prior notice. Starting in 2023, the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) weightage is believed to be permanently waived off for all applicants appearing for EAMCET.

    MS Education Academy

Those who clear the exam will be eligible for admission into first-year undergraduate professional courses, including BE, BTech, BPharmacy, BSc, BVSc, and PharmD, offered by colleges in the state.

The convener of TS EAMCET, Dr B Dean Kumar on Monday asserted that students appearing for the EAMCET exam must strictly adhere to the instructions given on the hall ticket.

Students have been especially cautioned to reach the exam centres on time. The convenor said that those coming late or changing slots will not be permitted to write the exam.

The TS-EAMCET-2023 is scheduled to be held from May 10 to 14 in two sessions, between 9 am and 12 noon (morning session) and 3 pm and 6 pm (afternoon session).

The exam convener has requested all the local authorities including superintendents of police, commissioners of police, electricity board, and TSRTC for their cooperation in providing arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination in 104 centres in Telangana.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) will be the centre of the exam in Hyderabad. Candidates can download the hall tickets at the website.

KTR inaugurates Flipkart’s FC, says ‘What Telangana does today, India does tomorrow’

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Industries and Commerce and Information Technology minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday invited e-commerce giant Flipkart to work with the government to create a unique Telangana model and said, “What Telangana does today, India does tomorrow.”

Minister KTR inaugurated the Flipkart Sangareddy Fulfillment Center (FC) virtually along with the company’s leadership. Speaking at the event he said, “There was a saying that ‘What Bengal does today, India does tomorrow,’ it has now changed to ‘What Telangana does today, India does tomorrow.”

He said that as a market leader in India, Flipkart should lead the initiative so as to create a unique model that the country can follow.

    MS Education Academy

“Let’s make a statement to India, which is like talking to one-fifth of the world’s population. This can also be a shining example to the rest of the developing world,” said KTR.

He invited the Retailers Association of India (RAI) and the e-commerce groups to create a readily employable workforce in tandem with the Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK).

He said that we live in a world where the largest bookseller, and fashion goods sellers do not own a single brick-and-mortar store. The largest transporter does not own a single vehicle and E-commerce has redefined as to how we think and work.

KTR said, “Each and every day, my wife and daughter order something online and the boxes keep rolling in, it’s interesting how India has adapted to buying and selling things online”.

He said that he was very happy to hear that Flipkart has created 40,000 jobs in Telangana. But said that the 40,000 people should feel that their jobs are ensured and not at the whim of the markets.

He invited the e-commerce companies to create a tri-partite arrangement between the government, vendors and partners so that Telangana make a statement to the country.

KTR said that gig economy jobs have to be taken care of adding that several young people send him messages saying that they are working temporarily in e-commerce companies for the lack of better opportunities.

He urged e-commerce companies to ensure that people aspire to work with them with an assurance that they can earn a decent living.

The minister said that the central location of Telangana makes it a good hub for the transportation and dissemination of goods to the rest of the country.

“We have strong Self Help Groups (SHG) of women in the state. Flipkart seems to have struck some kind of balance with 25 percent of women in the workforce. I request the company to consider creating a fulfilment centre that is completely run by women, at least in the day hours,” said KTR.

He said that the company can work with the government through Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) to create a win-win situation.

“I asked how we could continue to attract global leaders to Telangana and the answer I received from the Flipkart chief executive officer, Kalyan Krishnamurthy was interesting. He said two keywords, Quality and Compliance,” said the minister.

He said that while encouraging the industries to expand, create new jobs, and livelihood opportunities, the government of Telangana will not compromise on workers’ rights and will not encourage exploitation.

The minister said that while ‘quality’ applies to goods and services that are created, it also certainly applies to ensuring that there are no sweatshops in Telangana and India. He said that he looks forward to the expansion of the industry with a socially responsible private sector.

Rahul to address rally tomorrow in Kolar where he made remark on Modi surname

    [ad_1]

Bengaluru: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address a party rally on Sunday in Kolar, the same place where he made a remark on the Modi surname for which he was convicted of criminal defamation and also stripped of his Parliament membership.

According to state Congress sources, the former AICC president will arrive in Bengaluru on Sunday morning, and travel to Kolar where he will address the ‘Jai Bharat’ rally organised by the party.

In the evening, Gandhi will inaugurate the newly constructed ‘Indira Gandhi Bhavan’ – office and auditorium with a seating capacity of 750 people – near Karnataka PCC office in Bengaluru.

    MS Education Academy

Several senior Congress leaders including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC chief D K Shivakumar, legislature party leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah are expected to participate in the events.

The rally was first scheduled on April 5, which was then postponed to April 9, and finally to April 16, due to poll preparation and candidate selection process, among other reasons, Congress sources said.

Gandhi was on March 23 sentenced to two years in jail by a court in Gujarat’s Surat in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his “why all thieves have the Modi surname” remark. A day later, he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha from the date of his conviction in the case. The Gandhi scion had made those remarks at Kolar in April, 2019 during the Lok Sabha poll campaign.
His visit on Sunday is important for the party ahead of the May 10 Assembly elections in Karnataka.

Kolar is significant as Siddaramaiah has expressed his wish to contest from there, as his second seat. He has already been fielded from Varuna in Mysuru district.

Congress has not yet named its candidate for the Kolar seat.
