    Opposition parties raise questions over UP encounters

    Etawah: Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati expressed disquiet Tuesday over recent police encounters in Uttar Pradesh, with Yadav saying that one of the sons of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed might also be gunned down soon.

    Two men allegedly linked to the murder of Umesh Pal, the key witness in the 2005 murder case of former BSP MLA Raju Pal, have been killed in two police encounters in the last 10 days.

    Umesh Pal and his police security guards Sandeep Nishad and Raghvendra Singh were shot dead on February 24 outside his home in Prayagraj’s Dhoomanganj.

    Based on a complaint lodged by Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal, a case was registered at Dhoomanganj police station against Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam, and nine others.

    Speaking to reporters in Etawah’s Saifai, Yadav claimed, “There is pressure on the police from the top to kill whoever they find. Whoever gets caught will be killed. Both sons of Atiq Ahmed were caught by the police on the very first day. One of them will be killed in the coming days… You all will see.”

    “When our Constitution gives a man the fundamental right to live, then you cannot take someone’s life. There is no other way than the legal way. Those who carry out fake encounters are booked for murder,” he said.

    Two other accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, Arbaaz and Vijay Chowdhary alias Usman, were killed in encounters with the police on February 27 and March 6 respectively.

    Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati asked if the Uttar Pradesh government will follow the rule of law or eliminate criminals on the streets.

    Without directly mentioning the encounters, Mayawati said, “The police action which has come before the public following the killing of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj has raised suspicion among people if the government will conduct another ‘Vikas Dubey episode’ to cover up its failures.”

    Vikas Dubey, a Kanpur gangster, was shot dead in an encounter in 2020.

    In another tweet in Hindi, the BSP chief said, “The UP government is under a lot of tension and pressure, especially regarding the law and order situation after the murder of Umesh Pal, the witness in the Raju Pal murder case.”

    But the entire country is watching if the government will follow the rule of law to control crime or punish the criminals by eliminating them on the streets, she added.

    Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, however, said the police action in the Umesh Pal murder case is praiseworthy and it is wrong to raise questions over it.

    “The statement given by Professor Ram Gopal Yadav ji in favour of the murderers of Umesh Pal and the security personnel is an irresponsible one. The SP’s real character is to give patronage to criminals and increase their confidence.

    “This is the beginning of the dirty politics of Muslim appeasement. The action taken by the police in this case is praiseworthy and it is wrong to raise questions over it,” the deputy chief minister said in a tweet in Hindi.

    On Monday, Ahmed’s family held a press conference in Prayagraj and expressed apprehension that he, his brothers and sons would be killed in a fake encounter by the police and requested Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for help.

    There are reports that Ahmed, who is currently lodged in a Gujarat jail, will be brought to Uttar Pradesh for the investigation into the Umesh Pal murder case.

    Washington: Indian Americans from across the US have raised more than USD 300,000 for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

    A fundraiser organised by several eminent Indian Americans led by Dr Hemant Patel, the former president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), the community raised more than USD 230,000.

    The fund raised over the weekend in New Jersey was attended by Turkish Ambassador to the US Murat Mercan, along with Turkish Consul General in New York Reyhan zg r, wherein they profusely thanked the Indian American community for the generous support for the earthquake-hit people of their country.

    “They (the ambassador and the consul general) spoke very highly of what is being done and what the Indian community is doing for the Turkish people,” Patel, a recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honour, told PTI.

    Sewa International Houston’s AmeriCorps team recently organised a donation drive in support of the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. People from different communities all over Houston came together to donate hundreds of items, including food, clothes, winter coats, hygiene items, outdoor supplies, tents, hand warmers, shoes and baby necessities.

    More than 200 boxes were taken to the warehouse, filling over three pickup trucks, a trailer, an SUV and a big U-Haul truck.

    The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Robbinsville, New Jersey organised a special prayer assembly this week for those affected by the humanitarian crisis. The community members at BAPS offered support for the people of Turkey through prayer and a generous donation of USD 25,000 through its humanitarian relief arm, BAPS Charities, to the Embrace Relief Foundation.

    Farm state Republicans raise alarm over Trump’s new China trade proposal

    “There are serious trade disparities that should rightfully be raised, but we should be honest about the potential economic impact to rural America,” said Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.).

    Another farm state Republican lawmaker was more blunt when asked about how Trump’s new trade proposal could impact the U.S. agriculture economy, calling it “fucking suicide” for rural communities.

    Trump’s last tariff war with China originally targeted China’s steel dumping but provoked crippling retaliatory tariffs on U.S. agricultural exports to China — hitting farmers who were already struggling financially. Rural families, especially on small farms, felt the economic toll. Farms increasingly defaulted on their loans as China looked to Brazil and other foreign markets for farm exports, even after Trump spent $28 billion in federal funds on bailout payments. Trump eventually signed a trade deal with Beijing that he claimed would result in China purchasing $50 billion in U.S. farm goods, something China has failed to live up to. Tariffs on billions of dollars on Chinese goods put in place by Trump remain today. The Biden administration, which is reviewing the tariffs, has made no moves to ease them in the past two years.

    Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), a staunch Trump ally, cautioned against new trade moves that could hurt American agriculture. “I can understand what he’s doing — China is our biggest adversary,” Tuberville said. “But we’ve got to be careful about tariffs on farmers.”

    Some GOP lawmakers begrudgingly went along with Trump’s last tariff war with Beijing, in support of the general goal to punish China for intellectual property theft, steel dumping, broader state subsidies and a wide range of other malign actions. But they now caution that the process of disentangling the country’s complex economic relationship with China requires far more nuance than what Trump is proposing.

    “It’s important that we take a protective posture with regard to the sort of predatory practices of China,” said Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.). But “I also know we have such a great deal invested in China, probably trillions of dollars,” Crawford continued, adding that the unwinding of those investments will need to be conducted “forthrightly” and “aggressively” while also protecting the U.S. agriculture economy.

    Some farm state lawmakers, however, lauded parts of Trump’s plans. Rep. John Rose (R-Tenn.), a former state agriculture commissioner, said the proposal to revoke China’s preferred nation trading status “makes some sense.” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a potential 2024 presidential contender himself, said tariffs are “the only angle we have to protect our markets from their unfair practices.” Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.) said he supported tariffs on Chinese goods, especially given that “they’re already not meeting their obligations under the previous trade agreement.”

    And there are a swath of Republican lawmakers who are still uneasy about publicly criticizing the former president, given his pull among a vocal slice of the party. Asked by POLITICO about Trump’s plan, more than a dozen pro-Trump Republicans said they didn’t want to weigh in since they hadn’t seen the proposal yet.

    Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), a former Trump aide who is now on the House Agriculture Committee, said he wanted to “look at the language” of any tariff proposals “and who it’s really going to hurt and who it’s really going to affect.”

    “Sometimes it provides a big relief to the bigger consumers within our country,” Miller said. “But sometimes it’s the little guy and the little woman at the end who really take on that burden sharing of actually having the tariff cost them more money.”

    Miller, who has endorsed Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, said he backed Trump’s previous tariffs on China. “I’m supportive of those tariffs,” Miller said, but added, he’s “a little bit different, more free trade individual myself.” Miller went on to say the “Milton Friedman model I believe is the best way for economic prosperity of the entire world,” referring to one of the most well-known advocates of free market trade — a belief system largely shunned by the former president.

    Trump’s campaign didn’t consult key agricultural groups before rolling out his new trade plans — even conservative-leaning groups he was close to during his presidency.

    Trump relied on the American Farm Bureau Federation during his initial trade war with China, as he argued farmers were doing their patriotic duty by helping to carry the financial burden on his larger effort to punish China for its economic tactics. But Zippy Duvall, the ag lobby’s president, said Trump aides hadn’t asked him about the former president’s new trade proposal. A Trump spokesperson didn’t respond to an inquiry regarding the Republican pushback to the plans or whether the campaign had reached out to any agriculture groups about it.

    Some Republicans said that while they haven’t yet seen or reviewed Trump’s proposal, they’re generally leery of enacting new tariffs on China, given the likely backlash on U.S. farm exports.

    “I like free trade. I think that’s what our country is built upon and the sooner we can get back to that, I think it’s going to help our farmers and ranchers,” said Rep. Mark Alford (R-Mo.), a pro-Trump freshman who represents a rural stretch of Missouri.

    “I really don’t have a lot of comment on this at this point, because it’s all speculation, right?” House Agriculture Chair G.T. Thompson (R-Pa.) said.

    Asked if he would support new tariffs on China in general, Thompson replied, “I still think we’re resolving the impact of tariffs now.”

    Hyderabad, February 18 (Siasat News): In order to manage funds for various welfare schemes and projects in the state, the government has decided to raise Rs 13,000 crore by selling government land and regularising the encroachments. Unused government land in greater Hyderabad limits is being sold by the government through auction.

    The Government organized auction for the sale of Rajiv Swagruha flats in Pocharam and Bandlaguda area. In the financial year 2022-23, the sale of land fetched Rs 6,900 crore as against the target of Rs 10,000 crore.

    Chief Secretary Shanta Kumari has focused on increasing non-tax revenue through the sale of land. The cabinet sub-committee had recently held a meeting with District Collectors and officials of revenue, finance, stamp and registration and other departments to increase non-tax revenue. Apart from GST collection, income can be increased through property registration and other means. Till January this year, the government has received around Rs 92,000 crore.

    According to official sources, the District Collectors have identified unused government lands so that they can be sold. The government is taking steps to regulate encroachments on government land from market value under G-59. Around 14,000 applications in this regard are pending with the government. Telangana goes to polls later this year, so would need funds to spend on RythuBandhu, RythuBeema and other schemes.

    Melbourne: A prominent Hindu temple in Australia has received threatening calls in which it was asked to raise pro-Khalistani slogans if it wanted to observe Maha Shivratri peacefully which falls on February 18, a media report said on Friday.

    The threatening call to Gayatri mandir in Brisbane came after three Hindu temples were vandalised in Australia’s Victoria state allegedly by “Khalistani supporters” with anti-India graffiti.

    Jai Ram, the president and Dharmesh Prasad, the vice president of Gayatri Mandir received separate calls on Friday from a man who identified himself as ‘Guruawadesh Singh’ seeking the Hindu community to support the “Khalistan Referendum”, The Australia Today reported.

    Claiming that he was calling from Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, the anti-India supporter asked temple officials to ask the Hindu community to support the ‘Khalistan Referendum’.

    “I have a message in relation to Khalistan… if you plan to celebrate Maha Shivratri …. then ask the priest to support Khalistan and raise ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ slogans five times during your event… now show me how you will raise this slogan,” the report said, quoting Singh’s warning message to the president of the temple.

    Talking about the threat call, Prasad said that violence towards religious places is the biggest crime and “we as Hindus should be able to practice our religion without fear”, the report said.

    Later on, Temple’s Public relation officer Neelima also said that received several calls from an American number.

    The threatening call to Gayatri mandir came after recent attacks on three Hindu temples that were vandalised in Australia’s Victoria state allegedly by “Khalistani supporters” with anti-India graffiti.

    Earlier, a Kali Mata Mandir in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Craigieburn also received a threatening call to cancel a bhajan and puja event or face consequences.

    The Indian-Australian community is still recovering from the vandalism of three temples by Khalistani extremists.

    On Jan 23, the management of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple also known as the Hare Krishna Temple in Melbourne’s Albert Park found the walls of the revered temple vandalised with graffiti “Hindustan Murdabad”.

    On January 16, the historic Shri Shiva Vishnu Temple in Carrum Downs, Victoria, was vandalised in a similar manner.

    On January 12, the Swaminarayan temple in Melbourne was defaced by ‘anti-social elements’ with anti-India graffiti.

    Bengaluru: The Karnataka unit Congress leaders on Wednesday accused the BJP-led state government of inflating and finalising tenders to raise money for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

    Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Karnataka unit Congress president D.K. Shivakumar said “the term of the BJP government in the state is just one month”.

    “The ruling BJP is hastening the tender process in public works department, irrigation, micro irrigation, power, rural development and other departments.

    “The tender value is inflated. Suppose, if the tender estimated value is Rs 500 crore, it is being inflated to Rs 1,000 crore. We are ready to provide all evidence in this regard,” Shivakumar stated.

    The code of conduct is going to be implemented by March 7 or 10 after the Budget Session.

    Some major tenders are given after tabling them in the cabinet. While, others are given without discussing in the cabinet. The tenders are given in 7 days of time, Shivakumar said.

    The legislators are giving offers to contractors on streets and telling them that if they want to get this tender, they will have to give a certain amount of money before elections, he said.

    Shivakumar further said that BJP MLA Gulihatti Shekar had also written a letter to the government in this regard. The party is giving the task to BJP legislators and for those who have not got ministerial berths.

    “For any work to be taken up in Bengaluru, the deals are finalised in the CM’s office. The government has stated that it had released Rs 7,100 crore for filling up of potholes. The state has been made the capital of corruption.

    Islamabad: The cash-strapped Pakistan government on Wednesday introduced a money bill in parliament to raise Rs 170 billion in taxes by June this year as part of conditions by the IMF to get the next tranche of an already agreed loan.

    Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presented the Finance (Supplementary) Bill, 2023, in the National Assembly — the lower house — empowered to legislate on money matters.

    Pakistan and IMF officials held 10 days of marathon talks in Islamabad, from January 31 to February 9, but could not reach a deal as the fund demanded prior actions before signing any agreement to release USD 1.1 billion out of the USD 7 billion deal agreed in 2019.

    Speaking in the house after introducing the bill, Dar said the government was aware of the hardships of common people and tried its best to not further burden them through new taxes.

    He also accused the previous government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan of damaging the national economy. “When we were in the government, Pakistan’s economy was 24th largest in the world, but now it has dropped to 47th position,” he said.

    Dar also said that the devastating floods of the last year also played havoc with the economy, creating huge problems for the government.

    The government was forced to bring legislation through the parliament after President Arif Alvi on Tuesday refused to promulgate an ordinance to raise the new taxes and “advised” the finance minister to take parliament into confidence over the Rs 170 billion taxes.

    The Cabinet met after the president’s “refusal” and approved the bill later in the evening after a debate. It also summoned the parliament to meet in an emergency session and pass the new bill.

    The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued an order after the cabinet meeting to enhance a federal excise duty on locally manufactured cigarettes, which would generate up to Rs 60 billion in taxes on tobacco products, while the Finance Division issued a notification increasing the general sales tax by one per cent to 18 per cent to raise another Rs 55 billion.

    The remaining amount of Rs 55 billion to fulfil Rs 170 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) demand was being collected through an increase in excise duty on airline tickets, and sugary drinks as well as an increase in withholding tax rates through the Finance (Supplementary) Bill 2023.

    Pakistani and IMF officials are now holding talks in virtual settings to finalise a deal to provide the much-needed funds to shore up the foreign exchange that dropped to below USD 3 billion this month.

    Santos was defensive about the unusually high price tag for a local event.

    “Understand that I’m not here for personal gains or for any kind of financial gains,” he said in a spring 2019 video message to the group posted on its Facebook page. “All monies raised are solely for structuring this movement slash organization.”

    Santos was only able to pull in $645 out of a $20,000 goal. It’s unclear what happened to the funds.

    While Santos was ultimately unsuccessful in raising $20,000 for the Trump group, his extravagant asks drew questions about whether he was out for personal, financial gain. The episode has echoes of other fundraising efforts that have made Santos the target of state and federal prosecutors. The Federal Election Commission is probing questionable campaign expenses including nearly $11,000 spent on rent for his Long Island home and the FBI is investigating claims that he absconded with $3,000 in donations meant for a disabled U.S. Navy veteran’s dying service dog.

    Santos was a fringe player in 2019. He’s now a national political figure — but not for anything he’s accomplished. Instead, the Republican congressman who was elected in November in a swing district on Long Island, is best known for largely inventing his campaign biography. He has resisted calls for his resignation, saying his resume was only embellished, although he did step away from committee assignments citing the “ongoing attention surrounding both my personal and campaign financial investigations.”

    Naysa Woomer, Santos’ communications director, said she could not comment on any campaign or personal matters, and calls to Santos’ personal attorney were not returned.

    In spring 2019, a year before his first, unsuccessful run for Congress, Santos became a founding member of United for Trump, a grassroots group supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection. At a March 23 rally at Trump Tower in Manhattan, Santos was filmed holding a “Gays for Trump” sign.

    By March 25, Santos set up a GoFundMe account that other United for Trump members pushed to the group to raise money for a future “Northeast tour” of Trump rallies.

    He posted a video in the United for Trump Facebook group to introduce himself to other members that month.

    Santos had a few specific asks: He said he wanted to establish an LLC with an accountant, at a cost of $500 to $750. United for Trump also needed a lawyer — “to keep in our back pocket and just to retain” — for $2,500.

    In the March video, Santos alluded to “a lot of confusion as to what we are raising money for,” acknowledging it can cost less than $100 to get permits for rallies. But, he explained, United for Trump would be different than what members were used to, calling it “an organization to actually give power.”

    In May 2019, Santos was listed in a Facebook post as the group’s “president” using part of his full legal name, George Anthony Devolder. Other United for Trump committee members included Joseph, who organized central New York rallies for a group called ACT for America, described as a “national anti-Muslim hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

    Joseph said she met Santos when he introduced himself to her at the March Trump Tower rally and that he “seemed like a sweet kid.”

    “In grassroots, we accept everyone who wants to join and do a little work,” she said, adding that after the New York City rally, most of United for Trump’s other events envisioned for that year “didn’t get off the ground.”

    Joseph said she was preoccupied with other things and began fading away from the group around the time Santos became its president, and said she didn’t remember the group getting very far with organizing events while she was involved.

    In July 2019, Santos did help organize a counterprotest to an Impeach Trump rally in Buffalo — an event that turned violent.

    Rus Thompson, a longtime conservative activist from Buffalo, was the lead organizer of the counter-rally. He had no recollection of Santos attending the event. The New York congressman should “never have been elected,” Thompson said in a recent telephone interview.

    United for Trump planned to hold another Erie County rally at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center on August 3, 2019, according to administrator posts in the group’s Facebook page.

    Santos had asked United for Trump members to help raise six-figures for the August event.

    “Need your help. The est. cost to bring the pro-Trump rally to Buffalo with credible speakers is $20,000,” according to a call for donations that went out in the Facebook group.

    Thompson questioned the $20,000 price tag for Buffalo speakers.

    “I never paid speakers,” he said.

    Planning for the August Buffalo rally was the last time Santos seemed to be involved with United for Trump. In October 2019, he announced his 2020 candidacy for Congress at a Queens Village Republican Club dinner. His biography for the event doesn’t mention United for Trump.

    Thompson said he didn’t remember an event happening in Buffalo around that time. The location Santos proposed, he said, didn’t make sense.

    “That’s really expensive and not set up for a rally,” Thompson said. “Car or boat show, yes, but political rally? No.”

    Thiruvananthapuram: As part of the agreement between the Kerala government and Adani Ports, the former will now have to give Rs 400 crore to the latter as the construction of the breakwater at the upcoming Vizhinjam port is going forward.

    According to the agreement between the two, Kerala will have to provide Adani Ports Rs 400 crore when 30 per cent of the breakwater is completed and they have been knocking on the doors of the government for a while.

    The state government has been caught in a debt trap and its financial position has been in tatters hence they are unable to honour the commitment to the port builder. With time running out, the Pinarayi Vijayan government has now decided to take a loan of Rs 400 crore from HUDCO.

    The Vizhinjam port has been a dream project of successive governments and was finally cleared by the then Oommen Chandy government (2011-16) and Adani Ports was the lone bidder for the project.

    The work began on December 5, 2015.

    Gautam Adani had then announced that the first ship will berth there on September 1, 2018, in a record time of less than 1,000 days, but due to various reasons things went haywire. State Ports Minister Ahamed Devarkovil has now said that the first ship will berth in March 2023 and the first phase of the port will be commissioned in 2023.

    The project first stalled in 2017 after cyclone Ockhi hit the construction site and a portion of the constructed breakwater was washed away and since then the shortage of limestone, the most essential raw material for the project, caused another delay.

    The total cost of the port project is Rs 7,525 crore and the state government has contributed 500 acres of land.

    According to the plan, this would be one of India’s deepest ports once completed, and 80 per cent of the country’s cargo trans-shipments will go through here.

    Adani Ports, which was the lone bidder for the project, had sought a Rs 1,635 crore grant for the construction purposes.

    According to the agreement, Adani will operate the port for 40 years, extendable by 20 more years, while the state government will get a portion of the revenue from the port after 15 years.

    Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will work together with other opposition parties to expose the “anti-people” policies of the BJP-led Union government and also raise the issue of “misuse” of the office of Governor during the ensuing Budget session of the Parliament.

    The decision was taken at the BRS Parliamentary Party meeting here on Sunday, which was presided over by party President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

    KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly called, made it clear that the “undemocratic” politics of the Centre should be brought to light in all the possible parliamentary democratic ways. In this direction, he made it clear that the BRS should join other parties which come together and expose the Centre in both houses of Parliament.

    The BRS chief alleged that the BJPA governmentA at the Centre is undermining the federal spirit and causing trouble to the states in many ways.

    “This issue should also be raised in the parliament. The Centre should be forced to tell the nation what is the reason behind creating financial and other obstacles to Telangana which is running on the path of progress. The Central government is also misusing the Governors’ system,” he said.

    “It is undemocratic that the Centre is using the governors as their henchmen to weaken the states. The BRS MPs should strongly oppose in both Houses the evil policies of using the system of Governors, who are supposed to be negotiators between the Centre and States while performing their Constitutional duties, for their own political interests. The Governors are deliberately delaying the decisions taken by the state Cabinet, the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council as well. BRS MPs should expose the Centre’s attitude and undemocratic policies of the Governors, who are trying to obstruct state governance and development, in the Parliament,” he said.

    The party expressed serious concern that the situation in the country is deteriorating day by day due to the unfortunate policies adopted by the Modi government.

    KCR directed the party MPs to expose the Centre which is pursuing “anti-people” policies. He told the MPs that the mistakes committed by the Centre should be brought to the attention of the country by acting strategically and raising the voice on the issues relating to people of the state as well as the country during the Parliament session.

    The meeting, which lasted for more than four hours and discussed several issues, expressed concern that the negligent and perilous policies followed by the Centre are causing immense damage to the future of the country.

    “The policies pursued by the BJP led Union government have become obstacles to the development of the country’s integrity. This is unfortunate. The Centre is giving arbitrarily the hard earned people’s money to their corporate friends. The Central government is showing special affection towards its friendly corporate forces and waived off loans worth lakhs of crores of rupees. In public sector companies like LIC, shares are being transferred to big businessmen like Adani aimlessly,” said KCR.

    “The country is watching the hollowness of the companies which are losing lakhs of crores of rupees on a daily basis as the value of their shares plunged suddenly. It is clear that their profits are not all wealth. The Centre is making irreparable loss by privatising all the country’s assets to contribute to such financial irregularities. Both the houses of Parliament should raise their voices against the dangerous economic policies followed by the Central government which is helping the private sector to gain profits and people bear the brunt of losses. BRS MPs should strongly condemn the attitude of the BJP-led Central government which is harming the interests of the people of the country,” he added.

    KCR told MPs that for the future of the country, BRS MPs should come together with MPs from every party to fight against the BJP government at the Centre in Parliament on public issues.

    “The prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and other essential goods are increasing abnormally.The Center is not serious on the common man’s life which is burdened day by day by rising prices,” he said, directing the MPs that the sufferings and hardships of the common people across the country should be brought to the attention of the people of the country through both houses of the Parliament.

    The BRS chief also asked the MPs to raise the issue of unemployment which is increasing by the day.

    He also alleged that the Central government is not serious on the promises made to Telangana under the AP Reorganisation Act and the MPs should raise their voice in this regard.
