    In a viral video clip, 82-year-old Abdul Qadir Baksh can be seen walking in the courtyard of Prophet’s Mosque barefoot and frail, with a long muslin cloth draped over his turban.

    What caught the photographer’s eye was his innocence and unworldly attitude. Many compared his appearance exectly that of Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA)— closest companion and advisor of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

    Abdul Qadir Baksh from Hub Balochistan, has just returned back to the country after offering Umrah.

    He had been saving money for 15 years to make the pilgrimage and does not even own a mobile phone.

    “I feel like all my worries have vanished. My heart is content. I am not even short of sustenance, I am happy. My wish to visit the shrine of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Makkah have been granted,” Bakhsh told Arab News.

    Baksh also expressed his desire to go on Hajbthis time, praying to ALLAH to grant him success.

    The video gained a lot of traction and even high-profile figures such as adviser to Saudi Crown Prince Turki Al-Sheikh tweeted about finding Baksh.

    Madinah Health Cluster reported that more than 55,000 visitors and Umrah performers have benefited from the services provided by Madinah’s seasonal health centres near the Prophet’s Mosque during this year’s holy month of Ramzan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

    Al-Haram Hospital provided medical services to 10,797 visitors, while 15,040 patients at Al-Safia Health Center, have received medical care.

    A total of 1,240 people used the treatment facility at Bab Jebreel Health Centre. The health cluster said 1,791 people received treatment at the Al-Haramain High-Speed ​​Rail Health Center.

    Meanwhile, 24,680 Umrah pilgrims used the health services at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport during the month of Ramzan.

    The ambulance transport service has transported 1,431 people to hospitals and medical centres. One patient required open-heart surgery, while 49 underwent cardiac catheterization.

    The government was keen to provide the highest levels of medical care to pilgrims and visitors during the month of Ramzan, and health groups were established at all entry and exit ports.

    Riyadh: As part of efforts to preserve the visual identity of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, a government agency has unveiled a gilded copper barrier surrounding the Prophet’s chamber, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

    The new barrier, launched by the General Presidency of the Prophet’s Mosque, replaces the wooden barrier.

    “The idea of changing the wooden barrier with a brass barrier is in sync with the visual identity and architectural pattern of the Prophet’s Mosque,” said the deputy chief of the presidency for operational and maintenance affairs, Abdullah bin Dukhail.

    The design of the barrier was inspired by the front facade of the Prophet’s Chamber Rawda Al-Sherifa and the compartments containing copies of the Holy Quran in the old mosque.

    It is a barrier made of pure copper and is 87 linear meters long and one meter high.

    More than a million Muslims are expected to visit Al-Rawda Al-Sherifa during the month of Ramzan.

    Over 21 million Muslims performed prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque in the first twenty days of Ramzan, an increase of 49 per cent over the same period last year.

    According to statistics released by the General Presidency, the mosque and its courtyards are sterilized five times a day, while the toilets are cleaned about ten times a day.

    The carpets of the Prophet’s Mosque are cleaned five times a day with a total of 300 carpet sweeping machines, and its floors are washed with 92 washing machines using 1,500 liters of fresheners and 18,000 liters of environmentally friendly sterilizers.

    Additionally, 2,800 cupboards for shoes are cleaned and sterilized daily.

    The agency has also equipped 10,000 chairs to serve the elderly and provide comfort for visitors and worshipers during their time in the Prophet’s Mosque.

    The agency said, through its various departments, that it works in continuous coordination with the relevant authorities to serve visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in accordance with the directives of the rulers, and to provide the highest level of services and improve them to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s vision 2030 in increasing the number of pilgrims and visitors.

    300,000 iftar meals provided daily at Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah

    Every year, catering companies prepare for the iftar meals of the holy month of Ramzan to visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, serving around 300,000 meals a day.

    Iftar meals are served inside the mosque and surrounding areas with a focus on maintaining sanitary conditions. Meals usually include dates, fresh bread, yogurt, water, and sandwiches.

    • License for minimum of 3 refrigerated food transport vans, equipped with 4 stainless steel trolleys per vehicle

    • Specialized cooling centers with an area of ​​not less than 45 square meters for storage before and after packaging
    • Providing dedicated and equipped sites for packaging, the area of ​​which is not less than 65 square meters.

    The agency also confirmed that iftar service providers in the Prophet’s Mosque are allowed to distribute meals themselves or through catering companies.

    It also pointed out that the distribution of breakfast meals through catering companies will only be for people who will receive a license from them according to the conditions listed in the license and in compliance with the general specifications approved by the Food and Drug Organization.

    It is necessary for Iftar service providers to update their information through the agency website after receiving SMS update request messages. They must also abide by the dates, places, and amounts specified for them in the permit.
