They say with great power comes great responsibility. Manoj Modi, the right-hand man of India’s richest man – Mukesh Ambani – just received a property worth Rs 1,500 crore! from the latter for his long-time association with the company.
Modi, also the director of Reliance Jio and Retail, received a whooping 22-storey building as a gift from Ambani in one of Mumbai’s exclusive areas – Nepean Sea Road.
According to Magicbricks.com, the billionaire gifted this building a few months back. The building is named ‘Vrindavan’. It is reported that JSW Group chairman and managing director Sajjan Jindal also resides in Nepean Sea Road area.

A resident costs typically Rs 45,100 to Rs 70,600 per square foot. Vrindavan is believed to be a staggering Rs 1,500 crore with each square measuring 8,000 square feet total to 1.7 lakh square feet.

Mukesh Ambani ranked 9th in Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2023

New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries, was ranked 9th in the Forbes’ 37th annual World’s Billionaires List 2023, with an estimated net worth of $83.4 billion. He maintained his position as the wealthiest individual in Asia.
Ambani was ranked 10th in the prestigious list last year, with an estimated net worth of $90.7 billion.
In the latest list this year, Ambani is ranked higher than the likes of Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Michael Dell of Dell Technologies.

Gautam Adani remained India’s second most wealthy person, but slipped to the 24th rank globally following the recent rout in share prices of Adani Group companies. His net worth was estimated at $47.2 billion.
Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies is the third among Indians on the list with a net worth of $25.6 billion and a global rank of 55.
While the Forbes’ global count of billionaires slipped from 2,668 last year to 2,640 in 2023, the tally in India improved from 166 in 2022 to 169 this year.
Forbes noted that falling stocks, wounded unicorns and rising interest rates translated into a down year for the world’s wealthiest people.
Altogether, the planet’s billionaires are now worth $12.2 trillion, a drop of $500 billion from $12.7 trillion in March 2022.

According to Forbes, the US still boasts the most billionaires, with 735 list members worth a collective $4.5 trillion. China (including Hong Kong and Macau) remains second, with 562 billionaires worth $2 trillion, followed by India, with 169 billionaires worth $675 billion.

Highest Z+ security cover for Mukesh Ambani, his family across India, abroad: SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed that highest Z+ security cover should be provided to billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani and his family across the country and also while traveling abroad.
A bench of Justices Krishna Murari and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said: “Highest Z+ security cover provided to respondent nos. 2 to 6 (Ambanis) shall be available all across India and the same is to be ensured by the state of Maharashtra and Ministry of Home Affairs. Highest Level Z+ Security Cover, as per the policy of Government of India, be also provided, while respondent nos. 2 to 6 are traveling abroad and the same shall be ensured by the Ministry of Home Affairs.”
The bench added that the entire expenses and cost of providing highest level Z+ security cover to the Ambanis within India or abroad shall be borne by them.
The top court passed the above directions noting that “the security cover provided to the respondent nos. 2 to 6 has been the subject matter of controversy at different places and in different high courts”.
Senior advocate Mukul Rohtagi, appearing for the Ambanis, contended that the highest level of Z+ security cover was provided to them, in view of continuous threat perception assessed by Mumbai Police and Ministry of Home Affairs and the Central government.
The top court passed the order on an application filed by Bikash Saha in the Centre’s special leave petition challenging the Tripura High Court’s interim orders directing the Ministry of Home Affairs to produce the original files regarding threat perception in relation to Mukesh Ambani and his family. The high court directed that an MHA officer should appear before it with the relevant files in sealed cover in June last year.
On July 22 last year, the Supreme Court quashed the Tripura High Court proceedings in connection with the PIL questioning the security cover provided to industrialist and his family in Mumbai. However, Saha again filed a miscellaneous application seeking clarification of the July order.
Counsel for the applicant contended that in the July order as it stands, there is lot of scope of misinterpretation of the said order, unless it is clarified that the scope of the said order was restricted to providing of security cover to the Ambanis only exclusively within Maharashtra, which is the place of business and residence for them.

Rohatgi submitted that his clients are at continued risk of being targeted to financially de-stabilise the country and such risk exists not only throughout India as also when the said respondents are traveling abroad.
Disposing of the application filed by Saha, the top court said: “We are of the considered opinion that if there is a security threat, the security cover provided and that too at own expense of the respondents, cannot be restricted to a particular area or place of stay. Looking into the business activities of the respondent nos. 2 to 6 within the country as also outside the country, the very purpose of providing security cover would stand frustrated, if the same is restricted to a particular place or area.”

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani today emerged as a top winner on the world’s billionaire list whereas, Adani Group Founder Gautam Adani’s net worth continues to dip.
Ambani who recently regain the tag of India’s richest person continues to climb up on World’s billionaire list. With a net worth of USD 86 billion, he is at eight position on the rich list.
Today, USD 2.2 billion is added to his net worth. His ranking improved from ninth to eight as Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is trading in green today.
Mukesh Ambani continues to climb up on World’s billionaire list
Mukesh Ambani who recently entered the top 10 billionaire list and bagged India’s richest person title continues to climb up on the rich list.
Though Ambani is out of the 100-billion club, he continues to hold the title of Asia’s richest person.
Currently, he is richer than famous billionaires Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, Larry Page and Steve Ballmer.
Adani’s net worth takes another dip
Adani companies’ stocks which were bleeding ever since the release of the Hindenburg report improved today.
However, it failed to lift the net worth of Adani. He lost USD 986 million today and emerged as today’s top loser.

As of 12 noon, most of the Adani stocks were trading in green. NDTV and Adani Power are locked in the upper circuits whereas, Adani Total Gas Limited is locked in the lower circuit.
While, Adani Enterprises, Adani Green, Adani Ports, and Ambuja Cement were trading in the green, ACC and Adani Transmission were in the red.

Mukesh Ambani climbs up on world billionaires’ list; Adani stocks continue to fall

India’s richest person, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani once again entered the world’s top 10 billionaires’ list as his net worth rises today.

On the other hand, Gautam Adani whose companies’ stocks are trading in the red for the past few days lost USD 1.7 billion today.

While RIL stock price rose by 1.97 percent to Rs 2424, some of the Adani Group companies’ stocks are seen trading in red today.

Adani stocks lock in lower circuits

As of 1 pm today, the stocks of Adani Green, Adani Power, Adani Transmission, and Adani Total Gas are locked in lower circuits.

Though Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, ACC, Ambuja Cements, and NDTV are trading in the green, they failed to improve the net worth of Gautam Adani.

Currently, with a net worth of USD 85.4 billion, Ambani is not only the richest person in India but also one of the billionaires on the world’s top 10 rich list.

On the other hand, Adani with a net worth of USD 52.5 billion is in the 23rd position on the list. His net worth dipped after Hindenburg research released a report against the Adani Group.

His net worth dipped from USD 119 billion on January 24 to USD 52.5 billion now.

Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant visits Jagannath temple ahead of marriage

Bhubaneswar: Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani on Tuesday visited the Jagannath temple in Puri and sought blessings before his marriage. This is his first visit to Puri after getting engaged to Radhika Merchant.
Junior Ambani expressed happiness after having darshan of the holy trinity at the temple.
“I am happy that I had a very good darshan of Lord Jagannath. I pray for his blessings,” he told the media outside the temple.
He remained inside the main temple for around 10 minutes and offered prayers to the trinity, before visiting Maa Bimala, Maa Laxmi and Mahavir temples, said a servitor.
Earlier, Anant arrived in Bhubaneswar from where he drove straight to Puri. Security arrangements were tightened for his visit to the Puri temple.
The Ambani scion had also visited Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday and sought the blessings of the Goddess.
On January 19, Anant got engaged to Radhika Merchant, daughter of Shaila and Viren Merchant, at the Ambani residence Antilia in Mumbai.
