    Hyderabad: City police commissioner inspects new police stations

    Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner (CP) C V Anand inspected the ongoing construction works of new police stations and offices in South East and South zone on Monday.

    The CP reviewed the new buildings in Humayun Nagar, Kulsumpura, Gudimalkapur, Golconda police stations, and the DCP office in South West Zone.

    Along with senior officials, he assessed the facilities, infrastructure, operational readiness, and amenities available for the general public at the stations.

    He urged contractors to speed up the work and instructed officers to guide citizens regarding the new police stations and offices as well as changes in jurisdictions.

    SRINAGAR MAY 03:- The Deputy Commissioner(DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of City areas to inspect progress of various ongoing major projects being carried out at Government Women’s College M.A Road, Lal-Ded Maternity Hospital, Amar Singh College Gogji Bagh and beautification project along the Jhelum River embankments from Zero Bridge to LD Hospital under Srinagar Smart City initiative.

    The DC also visited Central Veterinary Hospital Maisuma and took stock of its functioning.

    At Government Women’s College M.A Road, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the under construction Administrative Block being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5.63 crore.

    On the occasion, the DC expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of the work. He directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace of work by employing additional men and machinery. The DC sets July, 2023 deadline for the completion of the project.

    The DC also visited the construction site of a new 200-bedded Extension Block/Gynaecology & Infertility Block of Lal Ded (LD) Maternity Hospital being constructed at a cost of Rs 132 crore.

    While inspecting the progress of works of the project, the DC was apprised about the physical status of the under construction project. He was informed that the five-floor building will have a complete Oncology Department, High End Labour Room, and 4 Operation Theatres and a big Diagnostic Laboratory and Neonatal Unit. In addition, there will be a ground plus 5-floors with parking space, patients waiting lounge, canteen, new-born section, and hospital equipment and also space for wards.

    The DC was also informed that work on the project will pick up the pace as soon as base isolators are procured.

    GANDERBAL, APRIL 10: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in the presence of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and Members of Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Road Transport and Highways inspected the Geo-strategically important Z-Morh Tunnel on Srinagar-Leh Highway (NH-1) today.

    19 tunnels are being constructed in Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of Rs 25 thousand crore. Under this, construction work of 6.5 km length Z-morh tunnel and approach road is in progress at a cost of Rs 2680 crore. This 2-lane road tunnel is being built under the mountain glacier Thajiwas Glacier between Gagangir and Sonamarg in Ganderbal district of Kashmir.

    Under the Z-Morh tunnel project, a main tunnel of total length of 10.8 meters with a modified horse shoe shape escape tunnel of total length of 7.5 meters, D-shaped ventilation tunnel of total length of 8.3 meters, 2 major culverts of total length of 110 meters and 270 meters, 1 small culvert of total length of 30 meters is proposed. Till now 75% work of Z-Morh Tunnel has been completed. A target has been set to dedicate this tunnel by December 2023.

    Intelligent Traffic Management System has been installed in Z-Morh Tunnel which will make it easier to control traffic. Along with this, traffic will be facilitated through the dedicated escape tunnel. The Z-Morh tunnel will provide all-weather connectivity to the Sonamarg tourist town. The debris generated during the construction work of this project has been used for way-side facilities and development of the area.

    The area of Z-Morh tunnel is strategically important as its construction will ensure seamless connectivity between Srinagar and Kargil and there will also be considerable reduction in travel time between Srinagar and Leh. This tunnel will promote social and economic development in the entire region. Tourism in Sonamarg will be promoted including activities like whitewater rafting on Thajiwas Glacier and Sindh River.

    New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the new Parliament building on Thursday evening.

    Sources said that the Prime Minister spent more than an hour inside the new building, during which he inspected various works.

    According to the sources, during his surprise visit, the Prime Minister also inspected the facilities being installed in both the Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha).

    During the visit, Modi also interacted with the workers engaged in the construction work of the new parliament building.

    The Prime Minister was accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The new building, which was earlier expected to be completed by November last year, is likely to be inaugurated soon.

    A series of pictures showed the Prime Minister interacting with construction workers, standing amid the big halls, and taking a tour of the place.

    The new building will have facilities like a grand Constitution Hall to showcase India’s democratic heritage, a lounge for members of Parliament, a library, multiple committee rooms, dining areas, ample parking space etc.

    It will also have a new Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Cabinet Secretariat, India House and National Security Council Secretariat.

    KULGAM, MARCH 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited several areas in the district and took stock of the pace and progress made in Water Supply projects under execution through Jal Jeevan Mission.

    The projects are aimed to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.

    The DC during his visit took stock of pace and progress made on WSS Tengpora Khargund, WSS Pratap pora, WSS Chatrupora Gasren and other work projects.

    After taking stock of the pace and progress of these works, the DC instructed the concerned officers to mobilize more men and machinery and ensure timely completion of these Water Supply Schemes.

    He set timelines for completion of various work projects and instructed the concerned to stick to the timelines and ensure completion of these work projects within the set timeline.

    Earlier, the DC also interacted with people at Gasrenoo and other villages and listened to the issues of people for early redressal.

    It is important to mention that there are a total of 218 works in the district and 142 schemes/projects are under JJM, and all the works have to be completed before 15th of June 2023.

    Accompanying the DC were ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather, Executive Engineers from PHE division Kulgam and Qazigund and other officers.

    SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 04: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today took an extensive tour of the Keegam block of the district and inspected the progress of various developmental works of Rural Development Department including Panchayat Ghars, roads, khuls, lanes, etc. coming up in different parts of the Keegam block.

    During his tour, the DDC also met locals and interacted with them and listened to the demands patiently raised by the local people and assured early resolution of their genuine issues.

    DDC stressed upon the officers to use area officers’ application for effective monitoring of developmental works.

    During the tour of the block, the DDC discussed the component wise works proposed and revised detailed project reports. He also inspected the feasibility of the project sites.

    DDC directed the concerned to complete the works taken up for execution before the end of the year.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Yar Ali Khan; Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana; Assistant Commissioner Development, Hilal Ahmed Jeri and other concerned officers accompanied the DDC.

    Hyderabad: With Hyderabad all set to host India’s first-ever Formula E race scheduled for Feb 11, the City police commissioner CV Anand inspected the Formula E race track, the audience stands, entry, and exit points on Thursday.

    The title partner for the race, Greenko would fully power the event with renewable energy, in line with Formula E’s net zero carbon strategy and RE100 commitment to achieve 100 percent renewable energy for the championship.

    The police chief on his Twitter handle account said, “Race day is just around the corner! With Hyderabad all set to host India’s first-ever Formula E race scheduled for Feb 11, yesterday I inspected the track, stands & entry points for a safe and thrilling experience for all.”

    Appealing to the citizens for their cooperation, he added, “Please cooperate with us & follow the traffic advisory.”

    The commissioner who was accompanied by his deputies and the event organisers during the inspection reviewed the preparedness of the organisers and other security aspects.

    “Around 575 police personnel will be deployed to man security and traffic. A total of 16 stands, seven gates and four foot over bridges have been put up in place to facilitate free crowd movement. The general public is requested to cooperate with the police,” he said, urging the public to use metro services.

    C V Anand said that Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), in collaboration with the Telangana government, will organise the mega event that is expected to draw over 21,000 visitors from all over the globe.

    The official also briefed the traffic restrictions saying, “traffic diversions will be imposed at NTR Marg from 5 February to 6 February partially and from 7 February to 12 February completely.”

    “The actual diversion begins on February 7, and ends on February 12,” he added while requesting the public to note the diversions carefully and avoid movements on this side of the city.

    With the Assembly sessions scheduled to start on February 3 and the inauguration of the Secretariat on February 17, Ananad said that officers will be stationed to ensure the free movement of dignitaries, and VVIPs.

    “There will be no restriction for free movement of Secretariat employees, labour and vehicles carrying materials,” he added.

    They also reviewed the preparatory works for the month of Ramadan.

    Shafiullah informed that modern machinery will be used to save time. He took stock of various restoration works being taken up and instructed the officials to come up with an action plan and complete the restoration work, illumination and electrical works.
