    In a tragic incident that occurred at the Saudi airport, Mohammed Chand Pasha, a man from Telangana, died of a heart attack just an hour before his scheduled flight to India. Pasha, who was in his 50s, was a native of Kondapur village, Kodimyal Mandal in Jagtial, Telangana, and had gone to Saudi Arabia to work in the city of Abha.

    According to a report published in TOI, the news of Pasha’s death came to light on March 20, almost three weeks after he passed away on March 2.

    As per the details of the incident, the man was rushed to a hospital soon after he suffered heart attack. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

    Riyadh: Riyadh Airports company has announced the implementation of the ‘Smart Travel Journey’ experiment at Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which will recognize passengers through their digital faceprint, without boarding passes.

    Riyadh Airports is implementing this smart service in cooperation with the international company SITA.

    SITA Smart Path solution enables efficient biometric registration, whereby passengers will become their own boarding passes just by looking at the SITA FacePod camera. The passenger’s face becomes his boarding pass.

    Riyadh Airports posted a video on Twitter showing the new system and the benefits of the trial.

    “In an important step to transform the capital’s airport into a smart airport in which we seek to reach customer satisfaction, #Riyadh_Airports, in cooperation with the international company SITA @SITAonline, succeeded in implementing the “Smart Travel Journey” experience at #King_Khalid_International Airport to identify the digital face print of passengers without the need to travel documents,” Riyadh Airports tweeted.

    The use of digital faceprint is also an important step to transform King Khalid International Airport into a smart airport that facilitates and reduces the time of important travel procedures.

    Thus, Riyadh Airports aims to take advantage of the digital face print technology at the capital’s airport to raise the quality and speed of travel procedures, which helps to improve the passenger experience and raise the level of customer service.

    The Kingdom continues to facilitate travel procedures, as it was recently announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a free transit visa for visitors coming by air, and a study visa was also launched for students from all over the world to study, in addition to the Kingdom’s plans to build the largest airport in the world, the King Salman International Airport.

    Abu Dhabi: Dubai International Airport (DXB) has launched a new biometric system, which will allow passengers to travel without a passport or boarding pass from Dubai, local media reported.

    Using the latest biometric technology, travellers can check in for their flights and complete immigration formalities without taking any identification documents.

    As per a report by Gulf News, arriving and departing passengers can scan passports in a few seconds’ via ‘Enhanced Smart Gates’ which feature contactless operation.

    The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai stated that verification is done through the iris and biometric information.

    According to the DXB website, passengers must remove anything that covers their face, including masks, glasses and hats.

    Note that passports and boarding passes should be available only when needed.

    This step is part of Dubai’s efforts to develop smart services for smooth travel for all, in line with the leadership’s directives to combine advanced technology in government services, thus improving the quality of life.

    Who can use smart gates?

    Residents of the UAE, Emirates, GCC nationals, entry visa visitors with biometric passports and guests of the Schengen Union can use the new smart gates.

    Who cannot use it?

    People of determination and families with children under the age of 15.

    According to the GDRFA, pre-registered residents who have resided outside the UAE for six months and those with renewed passports or citizenships also cannot use smart gates.

    After several cases of peeing inside planes, airlines have requested Aviation Ministry to make men’s pant zip locked and tagged mandatory before boarding the flight.

    Air India Chief operation officer said the boarding pass will have now pant locked and tagged option where the flight attendant will have to tick before allowing passengers to board the flight.

    To ensure no inconvenience to the innocent passengers, aviation ministry is likely to make urinating before boarding flight mandatory and the passengers will have to submit their urine collection. Details on this is awaited.
