Jammu. Keeping in view the third wave of Kovid, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to take strict action against those who violate the Kovid protocol. Specially asked to focus more on the crowd gathering at tourist places. Effective strategy will be worked out to control overcrowding in religious places, markets, public places, dense areas. The LG said that the emphasis should be on test-track-treat and vaccination to prevent the spread of corona virus. Micro Containment Zones at the Panchayat level will play an important role in dealing with the situation of Kovid. New ways should be found to prevent crowding in dense areas. More attention should be paid to religious places, markets and public places. SOP should be ensured at tourist places. People should be made aware about the third wave of Kovid.
99% vaccination in the age group above 45
The LG said that the target of 100 per cent vaccination has been achieved in 13 districts of Jammu and Kashmir in the age group of 45 plus (citizen) and the total has reached above 99 per cent. Priority will be given to colleges and universities for vaccination. The positivity rate has come down to 0.3 in Jammu and Kashmir. In public places, the habits of face mask, social distancing and hand sanitizer should be ensured. He asked to prepare a proper information system for timely dissemination of information to the people. The available oxygen capacity should be utilized for effective functioning of ICUs in district hospitals. This will reduce the reduction of patients to GMC. Apart from monitoring the prices of commodities during the festive season on other issues of public importance, the District Deputy Commissioners were asked to take preventive measures by identifying accident prone areas in the respective districts.
Another case of black fungus, 221 corona infected, one dead
Jammu. Another black fungus case was found in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday amid the Kovid crisis. So far 33 cases have been confirmed in the state. Meanwhile, 221 new Kovid infected cases were found in the state, while one Kovid infected patient died in General Hospital Rajori. 19 new infected were found in district Jammu and 40 in Srinagar. At present there are 2116 active cases in the state. So far 4362 people have died due to Kovid in Jammu and Kashmir.
