The first Kankan Self Grass Solar Eclipse of this year will take place on Thursday, June 10. This day is also the Jyeshtha Amavasya and the birth anniversary of Shri Shanidev ji. The solar eclipse will be visible as swampgrass at sunset over some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Aksai Chin. Its time will be 19 minutes. It will not be visible in other remaining parts of India.

Mahant Rohit Shastri, president of Shree Kailak Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust in Jammu, said that chanting, penance, worship and charity can be done only in the areas where it will be visible. In other places, Sutak etc. will not be considered. The doors of the temples will also not be closed during this period. This day is also the Jyeshtha Amavasya and the birth anniversary of Shri Shanidev ji. On this day worship, recitation, charity and fasting can be done.
