Punjab allows liquor vends to remain open on weekdays

Punjab Government amended its COVID restrictions on Tuesday to enable some non-essential institutions akin to outlets that promote liquor, groceries and {hardware} to keep open on weekdays.

 The outlets can remain open till 5 pm on all days apart from weekends. All different outlets nonetheless should remain closed underneath Punjab Government’s orders till May 15.

All non-essential outlets, together with outlets promoting liquor, groceries, and {hardware}, should remain closed from 6 pm Friday to 5 am Monday.  

Punjab authorities ordered new restrictions on Sunday as COVID instances continued to overwhelm the state’s healthcare services. The restrictions have prompted protests from merchants in numerous components of the state.
