Akhnoor. The people of the town are about to get rid of the abandoned animals. The Gaushala, which has been in controversy for three years, is going to be reconstructed in Pannu Chowk of the town. The municipal committee has got Rs 30 lakh approval for the unfinished work of the gaushala.
According to the information, the construction of Gaushala, which has been surrounded by controversies for three years, has been stopped in Pannu Chowk of the town. An additional fund of Rs 30 lakh has been released by the government to the municipal committee. Under this, the construction will be done by starting the tender process on behalf of PWD. This work will be done under the supervision of the Municipal Committee. Akhnoor’s unclaimed animals will be kept after the incomplete work of Gaushala is completed. 70 percent work of Gaushala has already been completed.
It should be noted that in 2018, the construction of the Gaushala was started at a cost of about Rs 15 lakh under the supervision of the Rural Development Department, but only after the work started, the Gaushala got embroiled in controversies. There were allegations of misappropriation of funds, Anti Corruption Bureau raided the Rural Development Office and also seized records. In this, instead of the construction of Gaushala, money was spent in the name of Cattle Shed. Since then the construction of Gaushala was stopped.

An amount of Rs 30 lakh has been allocated for the reconstruction of the closed Gaushala. The construction will be started by issuing tender on behalf of PWD.
