Detailed

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said on Monday that India’s institutions have stopped paying attention to human rights violations, so the United Nations will have to intervene.

Mehbooba said that everyone who raises their voice against the wrong steps of the Indian government is branded as a Pakistani agent. The former Chief Minister tweeted that everyone who raises their voice against the ruthless steps of the Government of India is easily labeled as a Pakistani agent.

Sadly, our own institutions have stopped paying attention to such open human rights violations and the UN should intervene.

Mehbooba made this tweet in the context of the filing of charge sheet against PDP leader Waheed Para in the case related to the alleged links between political leaders and terrorist groups. The charge sheet states that mercury is important for terrorist groups based in Pakistan.

Some UN Reporters have raised the issue of Para’s arrest by the National Investigation Agency. India does not recognize the role of any third party in its internal affairs.
