Jammu, June 11 (GNS): Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed on Friday due to massive landslide in Ramaban district, officials said.
They said that landslide occurred at Seri area of district, leading to the closure of the thoroughfare, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world. There was no loss of life or injury reported in the incident, they said.
Official sources told GNS the thoroughfare was later cleared as authorities pressed men and machinery for the same.
“Tomorrow (June 12), subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs (Passenger) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa . However, TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic,” a traffic department official said. (GNS)
