Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday chaired the 3rd Governing Council meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) at the Civil Secretariat. During this, detailed discussion was held on the implementation of other schemes including Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 3.0.
The Advisor said that a lot of importance has been given to vocational courses and training under the National Educational Policy-2020. To overcome the problem of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, there is a need to provide skills to the youth, in which the skill development department has an important role.
He said that the need of the hour is to start trades and skill development courses which give employment to the youth of the state. During the meeting, the Council approved Short Term Training (STT) for 709 candidates and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for 4000 candidates under PMKVY 3.0.
