The people of Jammu will get the gift of Peerkho-Mahamaya Ropeway in Section 1 of Jammu Ropeway on Friday. The commissioning of this ropeway will boost tourism activities in Jammu. During the ride of this ropeway built on the lines of Gondola, people will get to see the beautiful view of the Sun daughter Tawi river, the old city and other. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will formally inaugurate the ropeway at 11 am on Friday. In
Jammu and Kashmir, such a ropeway has been constructed after thirty years. Section 1 Peerkho-Mahamaya ropeway has a length of 1184 meters and is installed on seven towers. Foreign state
-of-the-art equipment has been installed in this ropeway, in which 16 cabins are installed. Each cabin has a seating capacity of 6 people, but keeping in mind the Kovid protocol, only 3-4 passengers are accommodated in the cabin. All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of the passengers on the ropeway. The ropeway has been successfully tested many times. Keeping in mind the severe floods of the year 2014, it has been built by raising it eight feet above the basement of the Tawi river, so that the towers of the ropeway are not damaged even during the severe floods in future, although illegal mining adjacent to the towers in the Tawi river continues. The challenge remains.
