Financial assistance of Rs 8.91 crore will be provided in the year 2021-22 to 7186 victims of terrorism affected in Jammu and Kashmir. This assistance will be sent directly to the banks. Only Aadhaar linked account holders will be able to get the benefit of this facility.

This decision was taken on Tuesday in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta of the Executive Council for Rehabilitation of Terrorist Affected Widows, Orphans, Divyang and Old Persons. It was decided in the meeting that a scholarship of Rs 61.47 lakh would be given to 683 orphans. Along with this, financial assistance of 8.43 crore will be given to 6982 Divyang beneficiaries.

1267 motor based three wheelers will also be given. In the case of the handicapped, after completing the survey in four months, the supply of necessary equipment should be ensured. Administrative secretaries of Finance, Home, Social Welfare and Higher Education departments and officials of the Central Government and National Foundation for Communal Harmony were present in the meeting.
