Jammu and Kashmir: Several vehicles fell into the drain on the circular road, a major accident averted, orders for investigation issued

In the case of rioting on the circular road of the old city, the Mayor ordered the DC to conduct an inquiry and asked to submit the report in three days. Directed that instead of PWD, the technical wing of any other department should get this matter investigated and action should be taken against the guilty. On Thursday, the Mayor along with the administrative officials visited the spot and took stock of the situation. Four cars and a scooty that fell into the drain along with the dungeon were pulled out with the help of a crane. Mayor Chandra Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma held a meeting with DC Anshul Garg in the matter of riot collapse.

He said that after a few months of construction, the reasons for the fall of the dungeon should be investigated. Ordered that work should also be started soon for the reconstruction of the dungeon. The circular road is an important route for vehicular movement and other movements. The same part of the circular road had collapsed in the last rain also, due to which many vehicles were damaged after falling into the drain. On the other hand, the local people expressed their anger over the illegal parking on the circular road. They say that illegal parking is increasing the pressure on the road. Not only this, in many places on the circular road, people themselves are doing illegal parking by putting an iron bridge on the side of the road, due to which the road is also narrow. People from many parts of the city are parking their vehicles on the circular road.
