The court has directed to attach the property of former MLA Radheshyam Sharma for non-payment of wages to the workers. Sharma is the owner of Shankar Ice Factory located on Canal Road, Jammu. In the year 2016, the Assistant Labor Commissioner had ruled to pay Rs 11,12,000 in favor of eight laborers working in the ice factory. This was not followed even after five years.

When this matter reached the court on Wednesday, Chief Judicial Magistrate Amarjeet Singh gave an important decision while hearing it. The court said that the eight appellants were to pay the money in five installments on April 25, 2016, but now it is 2021. This was decided in the talks with the workers. The judge said that the former MLA has not given money, so attach his property.

The court has asked the Deputy Commissioner to issue a warrant in this regard. If he deposits the money after the warrant is issued, the property will not be attached.
