These classes will be started in schools where enrollment is up to hundred. Directorate of School Education Jammu has sought information from the Chief Education Officers of all the districts of the division regarding enrollment, teachers and infrastructure in schools. The department is preparing to start these classes.
The purpose behind this is to increase the interest of children and parents towards government schools. While the state government has run Anganwadi centers to ensure the foundation of the students, now pre-primary classes are being started on the lines of private schools to attract children to government schools.
Director of School Education Jammu Ravi Shankar Sharma said that preparations are being made to start pre-primary classes in more than one thousand schools. Its aim is to enhance the quality of education. In this, once the child is admitted in the school, he will be given such an environment so that he does not go towards the private school.
