Two police personnel suffered minor burns due to a short circuit in the counting room located at Kalika Complex near Maa Vaishno Devi Bhawan. Counting room furniture, seven ACs and money counting machine were destroyed. However, there was no cash in the machine. CRPF personnel including fire brigade and police personnel present on the spot brought the fire under control after half an hour of hard work.

This incident is just a hundred meters away from the natural cave at four o’clock in the evening. According to the information, at four o’clock in the afternoon, flames were seen rising in the counting room located just a hundred meters away from the natural cave. Immediately the fire department of the Shrine Board, police and CRPF personnel started extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control after half an hour of hard work.

During the relief work, station in-charge Suman Singh Manhas and police personnel Ajit Singh suffered minor burns. They have been given first aid. Due to the Corona epidemic, the number of passengers in the building is very less these days, due to which a major accident has been averted. According to the police station in-charge, the cause of the fire is believed to be short circuit in the preliminary investigation.
