In view of the safety concerns of the students due to the COVID pandemic, all pending examinations including Class XI and XII have been canceled in Jammu and Kashmir. This information has been given by tweeting on behalf of the LG office, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The office of LG Manoj Sinha said that the detailed process of publishing the results along with the plan of evaluation by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) will be completed soon.

Before this, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) had not yet taken any decision regarding the 11th board examination. Nothing was said from the board about whether the examination would be held or the students would be promoted to the next class. This created doubts among the students. On the other hand, online education of class 12 has started in schools for the next session. Private schools are regularly conducting 12th online classes.

Significantly, on June 1, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) canceled its Class 12 board exams after a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After CBSE, more than a dozen states have decided to cancel the exams for class 12 students. At the same time, the Central Board, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) have also canceled the board exams for both class 10th and 12th students.

However, right now Assam is an exception. The Assam government on June 8 said that it will conduct board exams for both class 10th and class 12th and guidelines for the examinations will also be issued soon.
