On the other hand, oxygen demand and supply will be audited in all hospitals and health institutions in the state. Instructions have been issued to conduct divisional level teams for audit and complete the audit process in two days. The decision was taken in the first meeting of the Kovid Apex Management Committee held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary BVR Subramanya.

In addition to the need of oxygen for Kovid patients in hospitals, a detailed report will be prepared on the need for oxygen in non-Kovid hospitals and private hospitals and military hospitals. The committee has asked to assess the need for oxygen, looking at increasing the number of Kovid dedicated beds from 4200 to 7000. The Mandalayuktas were asked to constitute expert committees at the Mandal level which would conduct the audit work.

The Chief Secretary also directed to set up an oxygen war room under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce. The Department of Health and Medical Education was asked to meet the needs of the patients by wasting minimum oxygen.

The Mandalayuktas were asked to establish 24-hour call centers in Jammu and Srinagar so that the hospital referral policy is strictly followed. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary also instructed the Health Director, Jammu and the Health Director, Kashmir to set up a mobile vaccination center in consultation with the municipal commissioners so that Kovid vaccination can be speeded and infection control can be found.
