Let us inform that the terrorists had planted an IED plant in Samoh area of Tral. A big accident was averted if it was detected in time. Police station Tral has registered a case under relevant sections. It is being told that the weight of the IED was five to seven kilograms.
Earlier, a terrorist plot to target the security forces was foiled on Saturday by recovering an IED that was planted 40 km from the Chanpora police station in Srinagar city. IEDs of nine to 10 kg were kept in a black bag. Terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) had taken the responsibility of planting this IED.
On Saturday, they found a suspicious black bag at a distance of 40 meters from the Chanpora police post, police said. This information was given to the bomb disposal squad of the police. The police sealed the area and stopped the traffic there for some time. Sniffer dogs of CRPF were also called to the spot.
Told that the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and took the suspicious bag to a safe place. People were evacuated from nearby houses. It was triggered by a controlled blast by placing sand bags around the bag. The sound of explosion was heard far and wide. According to sources, it was an IED of 9 to 10 kg. After the incident, a search operation was conducted in the adjoining areas.
Local people told that the place where this bag full of IED was found is deployed almost daily by CRPF personnel. At a distance, there is also a blockade of Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF several times.
