New Delhi, April 9
The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice to West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for her alleged statements towards central armed police forces deputed on election responsibility within the state.
The notice issued on Thursday evening stated Banerjee prima facie violated varied sections of the Indian Penal Code along with her remarks towards the central forces.
The chief minister has been requested to reply to the notice by 11 am on Saturday.
