New Delhi, April 22
Noting that COVID security norms have been being flouted in West Bengal throughout campaigning, the Election Commission on Thursday banned roadshows and vehicle rallies in the state with rapid impact and stated no public assembly having greater than 500 individuals could be allowed.
The order stated the fee has famous “with anguish” that many political events and candidates are nonetheless not adhering to the prescribed security norms through the public gatherings.
The orders will come into drive from 7 pm on Thursday. PTI
