Normalcy should be restored by completely unlocking Jammu district. This demand was made by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday by meeting Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langar. Officials say that workers have come in corona infected cases and mortality rate, so that business activities should be given impetus again. Appropriate measures should be taken to give more relief to the traders.

Chamber President Arun Gupta said that the business community is in financial crisis due to the continuous lockdown. Along with waiving the electricity bill, he demanded relief to the businessmen. The issue of hotel industry and transporters was also raised. It said that hotels and restaurants should be allowed to function at 50 per cent capacity with extended hours till 10 pm. The policy needs to be revamped to promote tourism sector in Jammu region.

For this, tourism projects like Mubarak Mandi Complex, Tawi River Front, artificial lake, retreat ceremony at Suchetgarh border etc. should be completed. The chamber expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of isolated Kovid patients in homes due to power cuts. A large number of patients are on oxygen, which is making them more troublesome.
