The CBI has recorded the statements of former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh, suspended API Sachin Waze and two others in reference to the allegations of corruption and misconduct against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, an official stated on Thursday.
Following the Bombay High Court’s directive on Monday, a group of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrived in Mumbai from Delhi two days again for the preliminary inquiry into the allegations levelled by Singh against Deshmukh, the official stated.
“The CBI team has recorded the statements of Param Bir Singh and Sachin Waze in connection with the allegations. Their statements were recorded on Wednesday and Thursday,” he stated.
Waze is presently within the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in reference to the probe into the explosives-laden SUV discovered parked close to industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s multi-storey residence in south Mumbai within the final week of February.
