Baramulla fire: 29 families of victims of the accident will get 50-50 thousand help

The government has provided immediate financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to 29 families affected by the horrific fire incident in Noorbagh area on Thursday night. Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Basir Khan and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole along with other officers visited the site of the incident on Friday and met the families of the victims and handed over the assistance.

In the fire that took place on the intervening night of 10 and 11 June, 12 houses of 29 families of this colony were completely destroyed. These families have no place to hide their heads. After taking stock of the situation, Advisor Khan, who reached the spot, heard the grievances of the families of the victims and assured them of providing all possible help from the government.

Meanwhile, the Advisor provided checks worth Rs 50,000 to each affected family as immediate relief, apart from other relief material. He also directed to distribute additional relief amount under SDRF and also announced one month free ration to the affected families. The Advisor directed the Deputy Commissioner to conduct a comprehensive assessment so that these families can be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
