Popular Gujarati and Hindi movie actor Amit Mistry, recognized for starring in movies like ‘Shor In The City’, ‘Bey Yaar’ and Amazon Prime Video collection ‘Bandish Bandits’, died on Friday following cardiac arrest, his supervisor stated.
The 47-year-old actor was at his residence in Andheri along with his mom when he breathed his final round 9.30 am.
“He woke up, had his breakfast and even exercised before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was absolutely fit and fine. Amit had no underlining medical condition. It’s an absolutely shocking news,” the actor’s supervisor Maharshi Desai instructed PTI.
Mistry is survived by his mom.
The actor was a distinguished face within the Gujarati theatre circuit.
His work in Hindi movies like ‘Kya Kehna’, ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’, particularly his collaborations with filmmaker Raj-DK, together with ‘99’, ‘Shor In The City’ and ‘A Gentleman’ acquired him wider consideration.
